Hi, I'm very new to D&D! I do have a friend, but they won't teach me anything. I'm not sure I wanna join a group yet, since I am new to this. But I do watch people play, I just need a list of how to properly play the game. Or anything that can help me get used to everything!
We are have a discord server where our D&D community is super open to new players. If you want to chat or hangout, we'd love to help you get acclimated to the game. Our Discord Server.
But as for a list of things to help you out...
1. First, the process normally begins by finding a group and a dnd game to play in. Once you have an idea of the game setting and people you'll be playing with, you can begin making a character. Dungeon Masters often time run different types of settings where some races and classes might not exist, so its best to wait on character creation until you have your group. 2. Once you have found some people to play with, you should create your character with aid from your dungeon master. Creating a character involves: Selecting a race, selecting a class, selecting a background, then assigning your ability scores. Your race, class, and background will give you tool proficiencies, skill proficiencies, and special features as you go. Write down those benefits on your character sheet as you select them. 3. Playing the game is fun! 5th edition is a very fluid system. Roleplaying and moving through the world will be done by interacting with your DM. When you get to combat, this edition you have 3 actions you can take on your turn. A standard action (attack, dodge, disengage, or make a skill check), bonus action (sometimes your feats let you do very quick extra actions that are referred to as bonus actions), and your reaction (you can only use this action if your DM informs you something has triggered your reaction). At any time on your turn when you are making actions, you can move up to your movement speed between actions.
Hope this helps! Hope you enjoy the game!

Dungeon Master of the Ilderon Tales A set of 3 Campaigns running side by side in the same world at the same time D&D Community Discord Youtube Channel
So this is a 5E campaign in a homebrew world that I have started, two of our players are leaving due to other commitments, but they are welcome back. That being said we have 1 opening left that I would like filled. We play on discord, and it's a play-n-post. There is no rules on how many posts you have to post per day, sometimes we post multiple times in a day, an others we are silent. mostly it's during the day time that we post, the weekends seem to be our downtime, which works.
The two existing characters are a paladin, and a monk. I have approved one new person already (Druid) and we are looking for a 2nd
If you are interested in joining, you would be making a lvl 3 character then after rolling the stats you would submit it through DnD beyond. Rolling the stats on the discord server, you can choose three methods. one is the point buy system, another is 4d6 drop the lowest reroll 1's. or 2d6 reroll 1's +6.
Let me know soon please as the campaign is at a stand still until the next character is added
Thanks
It is a first come first serve
