Phandalin: Frost and Ruin Campaign Hook:

"Amidst the pastoral quiet and mountain-crossed winds of the Triboar Trail, whispers of strange sightings, masked men, and dragons-fire spread like chilling tendrils of winter's ice in Faerûn's north. Yet the town of Phandalin has little on its mind save for springtime cheer, the town's normal gossip, and new seeds to be sewn for the upcoming harvest.

That is, of course, until those murmurs come to town.

Tidings of a sombre sort begin to meet ears, shared over pints in the Stonehill Inn with hushed whispers and solemn tones. 'A dragon, spotted to the northeast? A whole town destroyed, in the blink of an eye? Men dead along the roads heading into town? Strangers, seen lurking in Neverwinter Wood? A Dwarf in the market, babbling nonsense about some mine?' You, our players, have heard these rumors too.

Whether whispered to you in those same inns, be it a honored task assigned to you, or by motivation of a more personal sort, you've made up your mind. To Phandalin, it is."
