Looking for 4-5 players for a long-term campaign set in my homebrew universe.
We'll be using roll20 for the virtual tabletop; and Discord for Voice. 5e 2014 only
Solus, the goddess of the Sun, has recently begun her Divine Calamity, an event of cleansing the skies of the Stars; the divine beings known more commonly as gods. Her goal? To wipe out the entire existing pantheon, and put in its place a pantheon of deities ascended from her hand chosen followers, to bring the world to a more "Just Unity" as she calls it. But the other Stars will not let her easily.
Her cults and divine body begun to first attack the God of Peace, Magic and Nature, Till, and their followers. They were easily overwhelmed, and Till's divine body was forced to retreat, hiding while it heals. As a result, arcane and primordial magics began to nullify in the world... while the raw elements of nature, without the word of Till to keep them in check, began to surge. Disease and afflictions began to spike in multiple continents, and conflict, war, and disorder rose in others.
If not for the efforts of the God of War, Malgarim Stonelord, an ascended dwarven god, then the world would've erupted into pure chaos. He took over the divine domain of peace as best he could, believing himself to be the best candidate as its polar opposite. But he could not handle it entirely... conflict and war still surged... but alliances and entire countries were on edge. In order to better handle it, Malgarim decided drastic measures were needed. He fragmented his divine mind into tiny shards- then bestowed those shards of his mind onto his most devout followers. But he went overboard... he fragmented his mind too small... he had no choice, after all. He had to keep enough of his divine mind intact to keep things handled in the divine domain of War. So when his devout followers adopted his ideals and became his avatars, they adopted the most base part of it: that violence is how you solve wrongdoings. And right now, there's a lot of wrong in the world that needs solving.
So those devout dwarven followers marched into the streets and began solving those problems directly - with their fists. They would find criminals of all kind and put an end to their villainy immediately. But therein was the issue- they gave no bias to the severity of the crime or the one committing it. A toddler accidentally stealing a bit of chocolate from a baker was just as much of a criminal as a serial killer to these dwarves.
And so, they were branded as chaos dwarves. In reality? They are the miniature avatars of Malgarim, who were driven insane by this severe lust for absolute justice. This, in turn, would send Malgarim into a manic rage, resulting in war erupting around the world. But Malgarim's sacrifice was not in vain, as he gave the nations around the world just enough time to react to the sudden surge of disease and famine.
Solus now seeks to move on to the other Stars, taking them out one by one until there is naught but her left.
This campaign will follow the player characters' efforts to stop Solus and her cult from enacting her Divine Calamity.
The time slot is Sunday nights, 6pm-10pm US Eastern time.
