Game: D&D 5e (or 5.5) Group preferred: Online Experience: Veteran Location/Timezone: EST Availability: Any time except Monday eve (when I run my own games) or Saturday eve (too high-demand for social real-estate) Preferred role: Player Game style: Not paid or west-marches. Prefer fantasy settings.
Howdy folks. I've been running games for about 10 years now, but now that I've been typecast as the guy forever in the hotseat it's hard to get a chance to dip into my folder of unrealized character concepts and get to play the game as a player. I'm hoping to change that. All of my games have been in my own personal setting, which means I know next to nothing about established DnD lore. In terms of DnD values I am not a power-gamer, and I prefer DnD for the story and storytelling options: the limitations of a character are more fun for me to explore than how big a set of numbers can be pushed, although I've been balancing games for a mixture of power-gamers and casual ones, so I can tango with harder difficulties.
If anyone's got anything on the go I'd love to step in. I can be contacted through email and discord. I've played on Foundry and Roll20.
Hi! I'm going to be starting up a Saturday early afternoon game towards the end of May if you are interested. Send me a friend request on Discord. My username is shinysylveon1993.
I totally get where you’re coming from. Once you’ve been behind the screen long enough, it can feel nearly impossible to make the shift back into the player’s seat—especially when you’ve got a backlog of character concepts just waiting for the right story to bring them to life.
At Legends & Lore, we’re a community that really values what you’re describing—story over stats, collaboration over competition, and characters with limitations, flaws, and depth. Most of us are DMs, creatives, or long-time players who are here not just for a game, but for a group where storytelling is a shared artform, not a spotlight.
We’re not a West Marches group or a “game finder” server—we’re a community first, built on friendship, trust, and mutual respect. We take our time getting to know new folks, and while that means we can’t always offer an instant seat at a table, what you do get is a chance to join a group of people who genuinely care about the stories they’re telling—and the people they’re telling them with.
If you’re looking for a place to finally play again, explore those unrealized characters, and be part of something more lasting, I’d love to chat and tell you more.
📩 Discord: qalsip1977_99382 Best of luck wherever your next story begins—sounds like it’s been a long time coming!
