Time zone: Eastern Time (Toronto area). Availability is weekends and evenings. Looking for virtual games here but by all means let me know if you're running something in-person in the GTHA.
About me: 36 M, pretty new to D&D as a whole but fell in love with BG3, understand the ins and outs of that ruleset, and I just participated in my first one-shot.
I'm now looking for something a bit longer, but am hesitant to apply to people's full-length, long-term campaigns because I'm still looking to make friends in this space and get a feel for what I like. I don't want to waste anyone's time so therefore hoping to find a shorter commitment game, although it seems those are harder to find. I'd also be interested in joining anyone's one-shot.
I think I like a 50/50 or maybe 60/40 ratio of combat to RP focus. I'm comfortable using discord and whatever other virtual platforms. (I now have one day's experience using D&D Beyond and Foundry.) I'm hoping to find more games in the 2024 or 2014 5e ruleset, but am open to other rulesets if you're okay with teaching me.
Not looking for a paid experience at this time. Normal guy, no antisocial tendencies. Happy to play with any and all types of folks who are also adults.
Discord handle: thebeatts - please mention this post so I know you're not a bot. :)
I'd like to offer you an invitation into our westmarch style DnD community on Discord, The Nexus. Westmarch plays a bit different from regular DnD in that a DM posts a session to be hosted and people from the community join it based on the criteria the DM specified. Like such it plays more as series of one-shots in different settings for your character, who persists in a shared space with other PC's between those missions/sessions. We even have some pbp options our players can immerse themselves into. We have multiple games a day and as the community grows we aim to have games running 24/7.
I have an online group that plays every Sunday night around 7p EST using Discord for voice & DnD Beyond for characters, maps, etc.
We are finishing up an ongoing campaign this Sunday & hope to start back into a smaller campaign (about 3 or 4 weeks long...maybe) the following week. We have an age range of 21-50+. Very laid back group, don't take games 1000% serious, play one-shots, homebrews & just general "fun run sessions"(like the past Easter one I ran on 4-13).
Any questions feel free to hit me up on my Discord marc8970
