How about, instead of filling in for campaigns, you joined a place where you can get in games whenever a DM feels like hosting? Such is the nature of The Nexus a westmarch styled Discord DnD community. Your character would get to play in different persistent worlds of different DMs, during various times of the day. We are still growing, so do expect some minor growing pains, like having to fight for a spot in game on occasion, but i can promise a welcoming community with a leadership that listens to its members.
