The hell gate was broken. All manner of demons and fiends were raging about the world, unleashing uncontrollable devastation in their wake as they exploded out of Waterdeep. The last of civilization that has stayed on the mainland has either been forced up into the forsaken lands of the Icewind Dale, or driven down to the south of the Starspire Mountains and into the Calimshan region. With The Wealdath, Uluran Keep and the Company of Eight; the demons have been held at bay from advancing further south.
Every day, more individuals march North to assist in defending the last remnants of the denizens of the material world, but the fiends are not the only dangers. While many proclaim that there is fame and money to be made with the war up North, there are still those down here that have the need for adventurers and protection from the other monsters that still lurk about down here in the South.
