Game: D&D 2014/2024 Rulesets (still learning some of the rule changes with 2024). During Session 0, we'll all agree on what is allowed vs. not allowed.
Setting: Homebrew with elements from Forgotten Realms
Location: Online (Discord) and maybe some VTT elements
When: Fridays (8-10 PM PDT) or Sundays (8-10 PDT)
Open Slots: 4-6
The Setting: Welcome to Avalar, a land of adventure, intrigue, and mystery. Our story begins in the city-state of Valor, a prosperous city where many individuals of all different races gather for their various pursuits. While the city has known great prosperity for the better part of a couple of generations, a darkness creeps in the corners of the kingdom - rumors of a blight spreading amongst the commoners in the surrounding countryside has raised alarm amongst the country and city-folk alike; a plague has taken root in the slums, while contained for now, healers and Mages alike are puzzled by it’s sudden appearance and strange symptoms; raids against travelling merchants and farmlands from orcs and goblins have increased, spreading the Templar’s forces thin; and the Mages appear troubled by the sudden eruption in dangerous and prohibited magics dedicated to the worship of some unknown god.
The Templars, the primary defense force for Valor, have put out a recruitment call for all adventurers, or would be adventurers, with the promise of fame, fortune, and notoriety. Will you answer the call? Will you pass the test of the Templars and uncover the mysteries that seem to afflict the kingdom, and possibly beyond?
Background: I am fitness and combat sports coach/trainer in my regular life and I have been wanting to combine my passion for training, fitness, and wellness into my nerdy life of gaming and RPGs. I have an idea of combining everyday actions/habits into benefits in a campaign; basically, a player’s everyday actions will have positive (or maybe even negative) effects on their character in game. I am still figuring out balance and everything, so I’m looking for feedback and willing to make adjustments as necessary. Want to add that feat to your character? Then let’s grab a few weights! Need that extra point Dex? Let’s get a run/hike in! Hit a PR while at the gym? Maybe your character finds a magical item in the next session. The point is to make fitness and nutrition fun and beginners are totally welcome, both to fitness and D&D.
As a player and DM, I’ve been playing 5e exclusively for the past 10 years and have DM’ed for the past 5. I’ve played in some of the published modules (Icewind Dale, Dragonlance, died in Strahd, died twice in Descent into Avernus) as well as multiple homebrew worlds. I’ve DM’ed mostly my homebrew campaigns and am looking to build a world with players and create a rich and fun environment for everyone. I believe in the collaborative storytelling element of D&D while providing fun RP elements, puzzles, and challenging combat encounters. I love working with my players to incorporate their backstories and characters into the greater lore of the world and campaign we’re creating.
If any of this is interesting to you, reply to this post, send me a DM or message me on Discord (sendoubyaa).
Thanks and looking forward to playing with you all!
Hey, I'm looking to get back into D&D (and fitness coincidentally). I've been mostly going off of in-person games the last times I've played but I have not gotten into online in a few years. I'm 25 yrs old and in CST time zone. Discord starbanehugs. If possible I'd be interested in joining your game and diving into a new world.
