The Character Name: Vincent Blackhart, Janus Black Race: Human Alignment (no evil characters): Lawful Neutral Class: Fighter/Eldritch Knight, Life Cleric or another melee class. Background: Soldier Acolyte
Vincent had a normal upbringing. From a young age he showed aptitude for being a natural fighter and the arcane. One day he bumped into a soldier while working at his job. The solider and him chatted and the soldier suggested he sign up for the military after Vincent showed him an example of his skill. Vincent took up the offer and was then recruited as a soldier. He would endure a brutal basic training but at the end he was a trained killing machine. Years would pass with Vincent reaching the rank of captain and several merits for valorous service. He was then given an honorable discharge as per required by the laws. Now Vincent searches for adventure as a hired mercenary hoping to make a fortune and good coin.
Janus was born to normal parents at their home in Neverwinter but his mother ran off with another man shortly after Jan's birth. As a result Janus never knew his mom and was raised by his father. Janus had a half-sister and half-brother after his father married another women. Being the eldest child his father would always have Janus help with his occupation as a healer. Janus's father would often work as a healer and cleric for royalty and nobility whenever they would fall sick or needed hospice or his father would be hired to do jobs for a cleric. Because of this Janus and his family had a good amount of money from his fathers occupation and lived in a small mansion. Janus had several close friends and generally had a good childhood. Janus's father was a strong worshiper of the gods on the side of good. From a young age Janus had respect for such gods. On day of his 18th birthday Janus heard the gods speak to him and told Janus that he was to help people and follow in his fathers footsteps as a cleric and healer. Janus then told his father and his father was overjoyed to hear that his son was to follow in his footsteps. As a gift Janus's father gave him a riding horse from the family stables then told him that the next morning him and Janus would ride together to the temple were he had learned his profession. The next morning Janus said goodbye to his close friends and family. Many years would pass with Janus becoming a devoted follower of Amaunator. At 25 the gods spoke and said he was ready. Janus then set out to perform the gods work
Age: 18 D&D Experience: I've dm'ed for friends but this would be my first time as a player A little about yourself: I'm a college student working part time with a love for exploring new concepts and making cool things. favorite critical role character or moment: I'm partway through campaign two and love the (SPOILER) scene where the group is laughing after a guard kicks frumpkin out of existence. Describe your playing style: First time playing this style of game, but I prefer exploration and rp to just combat in every other style. I especially love finding resources and crafting things. What are you looking for from the game? I'm really just looking for a cool environment that has a balance between combat, exploration, and character development. What are you looking for from the DM? All I could ask for in a DM is patience, flexibility within reason, and purpose I guess.
The Character Name: "Kovi" Kovidewer tugtup coppershine Race: Gnome Alignment: Neutral good Class: Wizard Background: (Guild artisan)
-Short version- An upbeat gnome with a grand passion for jewelcrafting and a tendency to pick up anything that looks vaguely interesting, saving it for later. He learned spellcasting after stumbling across a hidden trove of knowledge, and was inspired to forge his own path when that knowledge was reclaimed, presumably by whatever had left it there in the first place.
-Medium version (long version is just too long)-Kovi is a gnome with an indomitable sense of optimism and wonder. Born to a pair of jewelcrafters and miners, he was inspired to add beauty to the world by taking rough stones and coaxing out their full magnificence before setting them in whatever piece he thought would best compliment their fine qualities. He did not necessarily have the best rough stones to work with, but that never bothered him. He would pick up quartz, spinel, topaz, cool looking stones or pieces of wood, and pretty much anything else that caught his eye, storing all of it away for a use he was sure to find for it later, probably. He mined for copper to finance his practices, as well as search for rough gemstones, and one day broke open a entrance to a hidden hoard of treasure, art, and stacks of ancient texts. Not wanting to steal, but unable to resist the allure of new knowledge, he frequently made his way back up to this cave to practice the spells he could read within the several varied books. After using his newfound abilities to save a group of miners from a great beast, and recieving a heroes welcome in his town for it, he stayed away from his hideout for a day and a night before returning, only to find that the great treasures and tomes had been reclaimed. The chamber was now empty except for a black ring with a blue stone set in it (spellcasting focus) and a heavy black book with gold trim(spellbook). After a brief period of mourning for his lost knowledge, he decided it was a sign that it was time for him to go out and find his own wonders in the world, adding beauty every step of the way through his carvings and jewelry.
Age: 27 D&D Experience: 8 Years (Mostly DM) A little about yourself: Live in CO, Army Vet, love RPGs, RPing, and a great story favorite critical role character or moment(if you watch it): GROG STRONGJAW! Best moment was Travis' great RPing when Scanlan died fighting Raishan and he yells "Fix Him!" Describe your playing style: Love to RP, mostly play Clandestine characters or Paladins :P What are you looking for from the game? Great memories What are you looking for from the DM? Great Storylines
The Character: (Willing to play any role, I have character ideas in the double digits and can fill any role needed, but this would be my main choice) Name: Korin "Darkstar" Thadius Race: Variant Human Alignment (no evil characters): LN Class: Rogue (Mastermind) Background: Criminal (Spy)
Will keep short and vague due to unknown world. Will embellish more with world info if chosen.
(Read as if Korin is telling his story)
I was raised by my single mother Sophia after my father died a nameless soldier, fighting a pointless war, on a nameless battlefield. You could say I didn't make many friends with the local kids, but I learned that a smart boy lives longer than a strong one. As most fatherless kids I turned to crime, and sure I stole some things, but mostly books as I was trying to teach myself to read. Never quite worked out until I met my mentor.... Vernin Thadius. If you knew the name then you would know he lead a small crime syndicate out of my hometown. nothing major, but enough to be known a little. He met me in an alley trying to read what I thought was a great tome of knowledge! Ha, ill never forget him asking me if I had gotten to the part where "His friend dies". I had no clue what he was talking about, and later discovered what I had was actually "Martin's Tale of Adventure" and not some magical tome of knowledge..... I miss him sometimes, especially when I'm using my meager magic he taught me, or when I'm learning information about a person of worth in town.... He taught me everything.... That's why I took his name once I set out after his death. Gave my mom all the coin I had and said "Your be hearing about me soon mom, I wont die a nameless man!". So that's why I'm here in this large town, trying to make my destiny come true! Who knows the path the gods have laid before me, but I'm sure it will lead to great things!...… (Korin gets up from the table and motions over the serving girl) "Drinks are on him, darlin. Price for the tale of "Darkstar"
Favorite Critical Role moment- If have to be in the new campaign between Molly & Nott. They had all got back from fighting the invisible spider, Nott sneeks into Molly's and Fjord's room and trying to steal the letter about Solstress Academy and was caught by Molly. Nott offers first coin then acid to get the letter, Molly takes the acid and slips Nott a blank piece of paper.
Play style- Love to RP, mostly Fighters or Clerics staying on the front line.
Looking from the game- Great stories and memories
Looking from the DM- An amazing campaign
The Character

Background- Soldier
Don't really know what the world is like but this is what I have in the terms of a backstory.
BACKSTORY-
From the age of 10 Thram idolized the Dwarven Armies of Kesh. The prestigous look about them, the clanging metal, the forceful pressence about them. His father, the Kesh blacksmith had other opinions. On his 16th birthday he had signed up to join, as all boys did. He hoped he'd be chosen. He was, joy filled his dwarven heart that day. Everyday forward he learned of thier armor, weapons, & tactics. Thram was assigned to smith everything the Keshian army needed. It isn't exactly wanted but he was proud to be part of something much bigger than himself. Years later war came knocking. Every man and boy were conscripted to the front line, even Thram. He was excited to finally be on the battlefield. He marched to the war but came back horribly changed. The army he had idolized as a child was not what he knew now. Burning down villages and small towns, threating every person for coin. This isn't what he had signed up for. That night he fled, sorrow filled his dwarven heart, he cannot be what his armies wanted. Now a wandering soldier he seeks to rectify his people's mistakes.
Age: 18 D&D Experience: A few months never got to finish a campaign :( A little about yourself: A gamer at heart and really wanna find a longterm group to play with
Describe your playing style: I can play any role but I really do enjoy playing a bard or just a character who talks to NPC's and gets that kind of an interaction What are you looking for from the game? A fun play through as a stepping stone for me to learn the game a little better What are you looking for from the DM? Hopefully a DM who is understanding of my noobness and won't get mad when I ask questions that may seem stupid to those with more experience.
The Character Name: Schwifty Race: Shifter Alignment (no evil characters): Chaotic Neutral Class: Beast Master (My own Homebrew class, I can send the document to it or I can switch it to a Bard) Background As a man from a small woodland forest he graces his knowledge and friendship to all the animal and natural life beliveving that all life is sacred and killing is only a means of self defense. I have a wife whom is a socially awkward wizard and an adopted brother named Si Kevon whom is a Kenku. But above all else is my most valued partner Silver Claw my very own dire wolf. The reason he is so special to me is that he saved my life during a thunder storm by pushing me out of the way of a lightning bolt and ended up getting shocked himself. Ever since then he has hada static shock to his fur and is able to use lightning based melee attacks.
