Experience: I've been playing since July 2021. Most of my experience is with dm-ing but I do have experience as a player. I am willing to play with any level of experience for both dm and players.
Time zone: MDT (mountain time)
Availability: I'm 100% reliable on Sundays after 11am MST and mostly reliable on Mondays after the same time (every once in a blue moon, usually around holidays, I get scheduled but I can talk to my manager about it if it becomes a problem).
Preferred role: Player
Game style: I usually play wizards, bards, or rogues. But like to adjust to the party's needs. I'm looking for a free voice based game with a story for me to take part in (meaning not looking for a sandbox, sorry). I am a lover of improv, roleplay, and exploration. I still love a good bit of combat of course. I am broke, I will not and cannot do a paid campaign.
Must be trans friendly. Meaning everyone is actively down to play with a trans person. If lgbtq people 'don't come up' in your group, it's probably not a good fit for me as my existence is very queer. Also, I am early 20s and would like to play with people around my age if possible.
If it sounds like I might fit, you can add me on discord at maple_fish
It sounds like you'd be a fantastic fit for The Nexus—we’re a global, 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly D&D community that’s explicitly trans-inclusive, and we actively foster an environment where queer players and characters are seen, respected, and celebrated.
We offer free, voice-based 5e games every day on Discord, using the 2014 ruleset with all official content. (We're keeping an eye on 2024, but for now we stick with the classic.) Our format is Westmarch-style, but with a twist: each DM runs their own world and storyline, which allows for rich narratives and a variety of tones. While it's not traditional campaign play, players often stick with one character and follow arcs over time, with the same DMs and sometimes even party members. So if you’re looking for story-driven sessions with continuity and character development, you’ll still find that here.
You’d be able to build and grow your characters starting at level 3, with a generous 35 point buy, and no level cap (just a +10 proficiency bonus cap to keep things balanced). There's a great mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat, and many of our DMs love improv-driven storytelling, too.
With your Sunday/Monday MST availability, you’ll have no trouble finding sessions that match your schedule—and we have lots of folks in their 20s active and playing regularly.
If that all sounds good, check us out here. We’d love to welcome you into the mix and help you find your next story.
