His word is law, his enemies vanish, and his soldiers patrol the streets with eyes sharp for dissent… or magic. Magic, once celebrated, is now outlawed unless the King grants you the right to use it. Those caught without “proper papers” are stripped of their abilities, imprisoned… or worse.

The King’s latest decree is war. His messengers speak of foreign nations committing atrocities against Nysa — but whispers in the alleys say the evidence is fabricated, the crimes invented to justify conquest.
In the corners of taverns, in hidden warehouses, in whispered messages passed between allies, talk of rebellion grows louder. Some say the true heir to the throne lives in hiding. Some say the people are too afraid to rise. Some say the King cannot be beaten.
