I am running an original weekly Homebrew campaign and looking for 2-3 players to join the party. Characters will start out at Level 3 and nearly all character options from the Expanded Rules are available (plus Gunslingers). This is a high magic world with clockwork and steam technology. If interested, please DM me and I will get you started. Drop-ins may also be a possibility. Some more information about the campaign world is in the TL;DR spoiler below if you'd like to get a feel for the game.
The Four F's: My personal gaming philosophy boils down to these four aspects: Friendship, Freedom, Fun, and Fair-Play. All interactions will be friendly. The players should be free to make their own decisions, and if the party decides to run amok I'll try to roll with it. The goal is fun for everyone. I will run a fair game to the best of my ability and expect fair-play from the players too.
Tools and Tech: The Game will be played using D&D Beyond sources, the online Maps tool for encounters, and Discord with the Avrae Discord Bot to facilitate gameplay. You must have Discord installed on your computer to play through this adventure with this DM. We will be using both voice and text channels. If you are on the voice channel for this game, a headset with a microphone is recommended. Dice rolls in either the Encounter map or in the text channel using Avrae commands will be honored. I do ask that you link your D&D beyond account to Discord to make the game rolls available in chat. Safety Tools may be used and are TBD, but public or private chat with the DM is always allowed if there is an issue. The DM is not responsible for any technical difficulties that may arise.
Geography.
Havensgard is a large continent surrounded on all sides by oceans. These oceans are full of dangerous sea-serpents and the like. At the center of the continent is a ring of massive and treacherous mountains known as the Fellfangs that surrounds a large inland sea, the Azure. Rivers spill out from the Azure in all directions and lesser mountain ranges fan out from the Fellfangs like spokes in a great wheel.
To the East are the Three Kingdoms, a land of rivers and lakes, forests, rolling hills, and verdant fields. It is the most civilized of the lands, home to the greatest of Havensgard’s cities. While mostly peaceful, in recent times there have been strong disagreements with the forest folk led by the Treelords over the practice of cutting down large swaths of woods to make way for urban habitation and railways for steam-powered trains. The demand for wood to build homesteads and towns continues to increase. This presents an opportunity for the Adversary.
The Greenwood is home to the Elven Domains. The Elven Domains are relatively friendly to folk outside of the Greenwood, but the elves control only a portion of it. The Treelords and the Fey Courts are far less welcoming of the ‘civilized’ folk and the northern parts of the wood are overshadowed by Corruption. There are places even the elves do not lightly enter and many others where carrying an axe is a very bad idea.
The People. The intelligent mortal folk of Havensgard largely consist of humans, dwarves, halflings, gnomes, and goblinkin. In addition to larger forms of dumb beasts who are gifted with the ability to speak, there are the Taurenmen (Common Minotaurs), Dragonborn, Lizardfolk, and Aerokin (Aarokockra). Merfolk live in the lakes and oceans but may assume a form like men that allows them to walk on dry land. The numerous forms of diminutive faeriefolk dwell in any natural setting, but a few have adapted to urban life. Elves are a form of faerie but are human-sized and more common. The Forest People (Nygari) are aboriginal humans with a special link to the Greenwood, gifting some of them the ability to assume the form of a forest animal. (Note: Most species found in Monsters of the Multiverse can be found in Havensgard)
Technology is advancing. Gnomes were the first to master the mechanical arts of the tinkers, but the humanoid mortals and certain of the talking beasts have all learned tinkercraft. As a result, Havensgard has a good amount of steam and wind-up technology like steam engines, trains, guns, airships, and more. Use of Tinkercraft requires proficiency with Tinker’s Tools and/or Mechanic’s Tools (and the ability to use tools!). The most advanced forms of tinkercraft revolve around clockwork devices powered by magic. The marriage of clockwork and magic can be unpredictable at times, though the art of building clockwork has improved since they were first created and they are more common than they used to be. The rarest and most complex of these clockwork automatons have achieved self-awareness and no longer answer to an owner or creator.
Good vs Evil. Most of the intelligent peoples in the Material Plane of Havensgard believe in an all-powerful God who created the world and placed the First Peoples in Havensgard. At first there was peace. Then one of the Creator’s angelic servitors, the greatest of them, began to lust for power and glory. The Adversary began a heavenly rebellion against the Creator and built an army of those servitors who would follow him. The Creator spoke a single word of rebuke and cast the Adversary and his army down to earth. The impact was so great that it shook the whole earth and created the Fellfang mountain range, destroying the Adversary’s corporeal form. The Adversary, though weakened, swore revenge and incited the mortal races to rebel by tempting them with the knowledge and practice of black magic and the desire to wield power in the temporal realm. The Adversary's agents are hard at work to corrupt and control all of Havensgard, and plans are beginning to grow to fruition...

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Looking to get more experience with ttrpgs in general but mainly looking to get silly and have fun :3
Wow. I am floored by the responses. I can only handle one or two more players and I'm holding back two slots for some maybes.
So here's the deal. If I can't fill both slots by 5 pm today, I will post a message here. The first two people who reply to that message and accept a Discord invite by 6pm are in. Everyone else can ask to be put on a wait list in case some people drop out. Get a 3rd level character ready in D&D Beyond using Extended Rules as sources because we'll be moving fast.
Only one slot left, folks. First person to respond to this post in the next 30 minutes gets an invite to the Discord server. They will get 15 minutes to accept it. If that doesn't happen I go to the runner up and repeat the drill. I will put everyone else on a wait list in case of drop outs.
