Campaign: Temple of the Four Dragons | D&D 5e | Eastern Fantasy Dungeon Crawl Where: Discord (Averae for rolls) + Roll20 (for rolls/combat maps) When: Tuesdays, 7:30 PM EST (3-4 hours/session) Starting Level: 3 Themes: Honor, vengeance, yokai mysteries, feudalism Inspiration: Legend of the Five Rings,Japanese folklore, Wuxia
The scribed tale: Once a sacred bastion of the dragon kami, the Temple of the Four Dragons now lies in ruin, its rituals drowned in silence and its halls haunted by the echoes of defilers. You are summoned by a disgraced man seeking redemption, or perhaps exploitation of the temple’s cursed legacy. Will you:
Unravel the temple’s secrets through fragmented scrolls and spectral whispers?
Survive its trials, from kami-bestowed puzzles to the wrath of forgotten akuma?
Choose honor or ambition as the line between mortal and spirit blurs?
What to Expect
Deadly Eastern Dungeon Crawl: Traps that punish haste, battles against yokai and akuma, and puzzles rewarding attentive players.
Theater of the Mind: Heavy narration with maps only for combat (Roll20).
Player-Driven Choices: Will you restore the temple for glory, break its curses for profit, or bargain with its spirits for power?
Eastern Fantasy Lore: Samurai codes, oni bargains, and the weight of duty vs. desire. Magic and monsters reflavored to fit the setting, including homebrew.
Content Notes: Dark themes (vengeance, curses), very little limits/ players set the limits. Death is a real possibility.
About the GM Hi! I’m delete. Started the game by being a Dungeon master and will probably end it the same way. For two, almost three, years I've hosted campaigns with varying success. I want the setting to matter to you and I want your actions to define the settings future. A story untold holds just as much weight as a story explored. Characters will die. Opportunities may be squashed. You are no exception, even if you are the center piece.
