Group type: Online Experience: 5 Years Location/Timezone: CST (Central Standard Time) Schedule: Saturday 2pm to 6pm Roles sought: Players. I can comfortably DM for 4 to 5 players. Game style: A balance of roleplay and combat, with some exploration
A long time ago, in a setting far far away from The Sword Coast, an enclave of Astral Elves was founded calling themselves "The Archons". The Archons sought to create a true meritocracy. They would gather arcane knowledge, secrets, magical artifacts, scrolls and lost tomes. They established a hidden sanctum they would later call The Foundry. A marvel of arcane engineering and masonwork.
The Foundry of The Archons became a hub of enlightenment across the Astral Sea. But with prosperity, comes attention. And not all attention is good. Githyanki raiders set upon The Foundry with silver swords and red dragons. It became a warzone. Blood painted the halls. Monsters were freed from containment spells. And casualties were high on both sides. The Foundry, its contents, and any sign of its existence were lost to the ravages of time. The knowledge it once held, the inhabitants, and its location was lost to the void. It faded until it became little more than a legend.
The Game For the eagle eyed veterans who noticed, this will be a spelljammer themed retelling of Lost Mines of Phandelver. An old favorite of mine. But despite this, the game will be as beginner friendly as they come. I will host a free session 0 and a free session 1. This is to ensure that my players feel like they are getting a fair chance to determine whether they like my game or not. Session 1 will be a the same length and quality as my paid sessions. That will be a 4 hour session with a 15 minute break in the middle. Beginners and veterans are all welcome. Anyone can join, but you must be 18 years or older. The paid sessions are paid for through cash app, so unfortunately I can only accept US players. I am a DM with 5 years of experience under my belt. I run the game using 2014 rules and most sourcebooks (with some exceptions being banned in my games). I run a game on Sundays and have run this game for little over a year now. Joining this game will put you in the same discord as them. So you will be able to talk to them and get feedback straight from some of the most loyal players I have had the privilege of knowing.
About Me Online I am Fritz. Or Andrew if you prefer to use my real name. I am 27 years old and I have been a DM for the past 5 years. I have run one shots, official adventures and homebrew settings of my own design. I approach DMing with a players first mentality. I don't play against the players. I play with them. That's not to say my games aren't challenging. I run encounters as the NPCs (if there are any) would and should react. Goblins and Kobolds might lie in wait by traps and flee when they realize they are losing. Beholders might be too paranoid to trust players. Bandits might be more willing to negotiate with players but unwilling to to fight to the death. But overall, I like to roleplay NPCs before initiating combat. Unless its something like zombies for instance where they typically don't have any survival instinct outside of being controlled.
The Story at hand
An Astral Elf, Erevan Selevarun, has asked that the party deliver a shipment of supplies to a nearby colony. These supplies are smithing tools, food, among other items. In return he has promised a 10% share of the profits gained from this partnership with an added 10 gold down payment to the party upfront to boot. To deliver these supplies he has a Spelljammer the party can use for the delivery. Your job? Guard the shipment, ship, and deliver the goods from Glimmerdeep across Oryxx Pass and to Fort Cindersdale to collect payment from Ulfgar, a local shopkeep at Fort Cindersdale. Erevan has decided to leave ahead of the party along with a bodyguard, Theobald Fardeen.
