I am over 40 and new to DnD; played many TTRPG videogames though including Baldurs Gate series, Icewind Dales, Cyberpunk, Pathfinder, Neverwinter Nights etc. I also regularly watch a few DnD channels incl. Critical Role, Dungeon Dudes and D4 Deep Dive.
I have played now physically 2 DnD games at 2 different stores and have an upcoming set of StartPlaying sessions booked so I think I know the Rules and stuff better now than I did a few weeks ago.
Ideally I would like to find "my tribe" though. A consistent group like the channels I watch have rather than bouncing between campaigns and groups. Is this a thing or is it rarer? I would love to do some of those huge long campaigns and generally build up a core friendship group.
I have spent a lot of time developing my character; A Tabaxi Monk and I really like my character so would love to find a group to take him to.
I am in UK and free on Saturdays between 09:00 GMT - 2300 GMT. I think this is 05:00 - 19:00 EST and 0200 - 14:00 PST
Not sure if this post will help but I'm trying lots of avenues atm.
Hey we do have a campaign for UK timezone starting soon we are gathering players. The campaign is called "circle of killer's" as players we will be playing a group of serial killers. If you are interested let me know and I can get you in the server.
Hi Caeli! With your love for deep campaigns, character development, and watching shows like Critical Role, you’d probably enjoy our community. We’re an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly Westmarch-style group, where each DM runs their own world—so there’s a lot of variety in tone, story, and setting.
Just to set expectations: while we can’t guarantee a single consistent group, our community is large and supportive, and it’s actually quite common for players to find groups within it and start playing together more regularly over time. It’s a great way to slowly build that “tribe” you’re looking for, with lots of opportunities to take your Tabaxi Monk on adventures.
All characters start at level 3 with a generous 35 Point Buy, and you can create and play multiple ones. We use the 2014 5e ruleset with all official content shared through DnD Beyond campaign links, which makes jumping into games straightforward, whether one-shot or longer arcs.
We’re a global community with sessions every day, plus Play by Post and text roleplay options, which aligns well with your Saturday availability (GMT).
If that sounds like the kind of community you want to be part of, check us out here.
