Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online, Roll20, Discord for audio Experience: 8+, I've honestly lost count. 7 thousand hours on Roll 20 and around 200 on assorted other ttrpg game hosting sites. Location/Timezone: GMT+1, the UK. Schedule: The game will be on Wednesdays at 7pm. Roles sought: Looking for 4 players. Game style: Fantasy, PVP (but not required!), roleplay.
NOT CHILD FRIENDLY ----- This won't be explicit, but there will be soft amounts of revealing character art, swearing, and of course descriptions of violence.
The game will be voice over Discord and have a "on call" sort of system. We'll be in call together but unless players are in the same location or agreed to ally with each other, I'll be running it temporarily asking players to be in separate calls.
The game is called Fate/Crossed Grail. A DND 5th Edition campaign based on the Fate Universe from Type Moon that will take part on a fictional island called Fortuna in 2015, a land that's been "gentrified" to suit the modern era. It's the home of the Global Magical Affairs company, a military group heavily funded by more than 60% of the nations across the world, thanks to the calamitous events across the globe created by mages over the past 20 years during the Grail Wars and other magical insidiousness.
To the modern unaware portions of the world they're known as the Global Military Affairs company and act as a modern anti-terrorism group.
Here in Fortuna, Seven Masters have already been summoned to participate in the timely event known as the Holy Grail War where they fight with figures from the past; legends, heroes, Gods, and even beings of a magical nature, all for the right to gain a Wish from the Holy Grail when all but one Master and Servant remain.
But where does that leave you? Mages, normal people, and those in between who've found yourselves in your day to day experiencing the ramifications of the War and ending up part of it yourself. Let's find out.
Disclaimers to begin: -Knowledge of the series is not required, but it will help with some terminology. Which just FYI, I'm not 100% aware of yet either, so pace yourself with me. -A player can be a Servant, but must have another player agree to be their Master. -We'll have a session 0 individually before the game, then do a group session 0 to introduce and talk final checks. If any clashes of personality or intent occurs then we'll restart and add/remove people where appropriate to save hard feelings or wasted time. -This game will be weekly on Wednesdays at 7pm GMT+1 but might have a week or more off with very little warning as we go toward Christmas and everyone's day lives become more complicated. -Players, unless they choose otherwise at the start, will be placed in a story that pits them against each other. We will play this delicately and there will be distractions and options to allow teamwork and forge that union. You are NOT required to fight each other, its just how the game/series directs you.
Homebrew Changes: The game has a LOT of changes, but will in essence be using a heavily homebrewed form of DND 5th edition 2014 that I'll be working on even as we play. The list is inside the game, a vast majority of spells, classes, and more have changed. I'm trying to find a good way to upload it where it doesn't look like a stream of text, but I can share it that way if necessary. Some important highlights of the changes are: -Human / Variant only. The Masters are Humans in the modern day. (That's not to say you couldn't be something else as the game progresses ;O) You can choose to be a Homunculus, but will statistically be a human. Servant's of course don't have this restriction. -Paladin is removed. It's already gonna be an experiment in patience with people possible killing each other, it's simpler to remove the "Beat to Death" option, also I couldn't find a good place for it in the game. -Backgrounds and Warlock are in-game homebrew options only. -Most abilities can be used repeatedly at the cost of "Mana" (your general stamina/magic/prana resource). -You can choose any class and still dip into Wizard or Artificer for your Subclass, to maintain your image as a Wizard/Mage in a Modern setting. -Your time and daily activities are gonna be important in this game. The backgrounds will give you the chance to have a normal day-to-day life with boons. Each day will work as 8 hour segments, one of which you must (should) spend sleeping and the other two are yours to deal with, some backgrounds requiring specific segments of your day or days of the week to maintain your cover and fund your life, aid you in your spellcraft, progress in the War, or other goals you might have.
If you would like to join the game fill out the following (removing any parts in brackets). Just as a warning, there can only be a maximum of 2 player Servants, 1 must each be to a player Master who is willing to work alongside you.
Master or Servant: (If Servant, send the details privately) Character Name: Character Age: (minimum of 16) Characters Day Job/Role: Class: (starter level 1 with an option for higher levels) Preferred Magic: (Enhancement, alchemy, necromancy, none?) Preferred (NPC) Servant Class: (choose a minimum of 2: archer, assassin, berserker, lancer, rider, saber) Begin with an Auction?: (you can have a quick RP moment to buy an item that guarantees a premade Servant, whose class you learn of during the "auction")
If playing as a Servant, send your desired legend and their class (archer, saber, etc) privately (to me, and your PC Master if you have one) as well as the most notable parts of their legend using the Master template above. You can also choose a premade Servant and play it however you like. Servants are complicated and will have to be thoroughly discussed privately.
