Hello! I go by Pippin, i am 24 years old and been playing since 2016, my pronounce are she/her or they/them. I am looking for a free group. Prefferably the group actually likes the dnd mechanics, while i love roleplay i find that those only roleplay focus games tend to die a lot. I dont have anything too specific i want for the game other than to have fun, maybe nothing too overly dark as theme but i dont mind a bit horror. Outside of dnd i enjoy video games, art, text based roleplay and been getting into Brazilian Jui Jitsu as well. While i do really like the roleplay aspects i also enjoy the combat. You get a plus if the game is balanced with both men and women and/or other.
I am in sweden and i wont scheduele anything past midnight but i do online studies so im fairly adaptable other than every other saturday. I am also good with either the 2024 rules or the 2014 and dont mind either. I do though have more expeirence with 2014 ones.
Hello Pippin. You sound like the kind of player that I am looking for.
I am GM Chris, and I have been playing DnD for 23 (active) years, and have been GM/DM for most of that. I am hosting one brand new campaign on Roll20/Discord (a 'Bootcamp', mostly for brand new and returning players), AND I am actively converting my greatest story ever (my personal 'Magnum Opus') from my old spiral-bound notebooks into a digital format so that I can run it on Roll20 in near future. I am aiming for mid- to late-December, as I still have a lot of old notes that I need to convert over to digital format. I am approx 1/3 complete with the conversion. It will be (approx) a year-long campaign, running on Wednesday evenings, 5-9pm MST (7-11pm EST). It is a story about loss, despair and overwhelming odds in the beginning, but then transitions into a rise to power and strength in the middle, and wrapping up with glory and triumph, as you find yourself in the middle of a proxy war between two extremely powerful entities, concluding with an apocalyptic ending on par with the Spellplague. When I ran this story during 3.5 Edition (in 2014-2015), my players LOVED it, and stuck around for a whole year to play it through.
I would love to start up a conversation with you, to see if my upcoming long-term campaign is something you'd be interested in? Or even the New-and-Returning-Player campaign that starts in a week? I know you said that you are looking for a free game, but in the essence of courtesy and full-transparency, I am heavily invested in books and resources (all of which are shared with you digitally), as well as Roll20 Pro and DNDBeyond Pro subscriptions, so I do kindly ask for a small 'donation' to play at my table, just to help offset the costs of all the materials (I am NOT doing this for 'income', but just to offset the cost of all the subscription services that I need, in order to provide the quality of gameplay that I want to deliver).
If you'd like to start up a conversation and see if this might be a good fit for you, you are welcome to reply here in this thread, and I will respond. I hope to hear from you soon. =) -GM Chris
