Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face (if in or near Victoria, BC, Canada) Experience: Veteran Location/Timezone: Sidney, BC / PST Availability: 7am - 5pm PST on Sundays, 5pm - 11/12pm PST on Mon-Thurs Preferred role: Player Game style: A mix of roleplay and combat, maybe a little more combat oriented, but flexible.
Hello, I have been playing D&D since the days of 3.5, but stopped for a while until mid-late 2018 when I started playing 5e. Since most of that time I've been the DM, I'm looking to play as a player character this time. I am fully aware I'm looking for a rare combination of factors to make this work, which is why I've been searching Roll20, Start Playing Games, Reddit, and here as well. I'm willing to wait for the right game to come up, but figure if I don't post about it, I probably won't find that unicorn of a game. I do have a Master Tier subscription for my games that I run, and can share my content if that helps. I have almost all of the books on the website, but I will list the few sources I do not have at the bottom of the post. I also have a massive library of creature/player tokens and maps/map pieces that is over 86gb that I can share.
I would prefer a free game, as I do not have a lot of disposable income (it almost always ends up going to books and tokens for Roll20). If possible, I'd like to join a group wanting to start Curse of Strahd, as I've never made it through that module before. I played it once, and we had a few sessions before the group fell apart, but we didn't get very far. If Curse of Strahd is not available, I would prefer something with a darker setting, or something that would allow me to play an Order of the Lycan Blood Hunter, as I would like to try out a mostly unarmed elemental werewolf character. Unfortunately my schedule is a little limited for the most popular times for games I've found online. I'm available on Sundays for mornings or early afternoons, and after 5pm PST on Monday through Thursday. Otherwise I'm busy on Friday and Saturdays, as well as Sunday nights.
Again, I understand this will be difficult to find, but I'm hoping by posting here I can find a group that fits these restrictions and is looking for a player.
Since it is a much shorter list, here are the books I do not have (As of the 19th of November):
Heroes of the Borderlands
Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club
Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun
Netheril's Fall
One-Shot Wonders: 10 Coastal One-Shot Adventures
One-Shot Wonders: 10 Desert One-Shot Adventures
One-Shot Wonders: 10 Forest One-Shot Adventures
Abomination Vaults
Grim Hollow: Campaign Guide
I plan on buying the books I am missing, but as mentioned before I do not have a lot of disposable income, so it may take some time. I tend to prioritize books with player options over adventure books.
