Hi! I was planning to run an open world rp heavy campaign set in a homebrew setting. Don’t have a concrete schedule currently (schedule can be weird most weeks) but I like to dm as often as I can. probably sometime after 6 pm. Probably will try and run a small group game unless I find a lot of players. I’m 18+ and my timezone is cst if that matters. It’s a fantasy high magic setting but also has a little technology thanks to artificers. I do theater of the mind over discord vc. We Start at lv 5.
The simple main story plot is you guys fight against a sudden global outbreak of monsters that have appeared for unknown reasons. Tho some believe artificers are the cause of more monsters appearing in the world. But it hasn’t been proven yet. hello there. I'm a new at dnd (never played and the handbook is a pdf i found on the internet). I really want to try and can't find around me a group. I want to use voices and made up accent (though Ihave my very own real one). I work in an emergancy force which means I won't always be available (part of the reason i cant find a group), and I can be called in minutes notice, but I really hope I can join. I'm in +2 time zone but I'm used to not going to bed in reagular hours:(
It's usually a very good idea to first interview applicants to games to do a general "vibe check" to see if they'd be a good fit for the table you want to run, and later to have a Session ZERO which does something similar for the entire group of players at once, to discuss expectations and special rules and things.
This is ESPECIALLY important for a new world with lots of homebrew.
Jumping right into a Session One without any of that might result in a campaign which quickly falls apart. And I'm speaking as a player from a group which came together and jumped right in, and it turned out the group and DM had different expectations and it fell apart fast.
