We are a group of friends who play DnD together regularly. We have completed multiple level 20 campaigns together and they usually last about 2-3 years. We are all in our 30s and might not be the normal type of nerds you"re used to. We're very brash, and crass. We speak very harsh and when it comes to ripping on each other its no holds barred. But at the end of the day we love each other like brothers. If your the type to get your feelings hurt over a joke or because we made fun of you for something you are not a good fit.
We are looking for 2-3:players for a game we are starting after the new year. We have found that it can be tough to add new people to our kind of mix. So we want to be very clear on what we are looking for.
We consider it a privilege to play with each other. It's hard to find a serious game and we value each other's time. We require that of all players. The games are long, we are all good DMs and you will get your moments. So staying in character and not interrupting unless you are adding meaningful role play to the scene is very important to us.
We like all aspects of DnD. We do combat and exploration and puzzles but the upmost important aspect of the game to us is role play. We've had lots of sessions where dice rolling is secondary and we spend the entire session engaging with each other and the world. This is where serious players are very important. Our idea of good RP is character and story building. We are looking for the type of player that reads all the DMs world notes, then comes up with a character backstory that will engage with the world, then picks a race and class that fits. If your idea of RP is “I'm a bard and I try to screw everything just because I'm a bard or I'm a barbarian so I'm big and dumb and just hit things" you are not a fit.
I touched on table etiquette a bit. This should go without saying but when its time to play DnD its time to play DnD. If your invited into our friend group we have about 160 hours each week that we are not playing DnD where we can talk about whatever. During the 4 or so hours we play, we expect players to stay in character and not interrupt the game with stories about your week or how this reminds you of that one time.
After reading all of that you might think we don't want fun or jokes in our game. That's not the case. We all understand that DnD can be inherently silly sometimes and we all love to laugh and joke and have fun, just not at the expense of disrupting the game.
You also might notice I have said nothing about the game we will be playing. It's going to be Saturday nights and we will be using the 2024 rules. Other than that, we want players who are intrigued by what I've said above. If that's you, you'll enjoy the game.
If all of that didn't scare you away and you think you'd like to hang out with a few vulgar nerds and make a some magic join this discord link and message PT.
Discord link says its either invalid or expired, but chiming in here. Definitely dig the RP first energy and emphasis on character development. Have the rough frameworks of a Moon Druid and a Lore Bard that I'd like to firm up, depending on party comp and overall vibes. GL HF either way!
It does say the discord link is invalid. However, would be interested in this game, for sure. Depends on when on Saturday? I'm PST zone. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Are you willing to bend the 2024 rule? I prefer playing 2014 until 5.5 has caught up with the subclass choices.
I'd love to join but I am CST time and I'd just like to know what time on Saturdays first
Very interested in this game!! I will join the discord server tomorrow when I am free!!
I'm pretty interested in this game too, but I don't know the timezone. I'm in the UK for reference.

Sent a DM via discord, but here’s an example of a PC I love to adapt and play.
