We are nearly half a year into the campaign and one of the players has decided to leave we need someone to fill their spot in the party. The new player would be joining at level 9 alongside the rest of the party and would receive one uncommon item and one rare item to help catch up with the group.

Current party composition includes
A Champion Fighter who primarily specializes in ranged combat
A Forge Cleric who acts as the main tank and healer
A Hexblade Warlock who focuses on damage

We are using the 2014 rules, not the 2024 update. Character progression is XP based, and we roll stats.

General campaign information
The main antagonist of the campaign is a cult attempting to revive a lich who was slain 1500 years ago. This lich was considered one of the most powerful beings to ever walk the world and was only defeated through the combined efforts of multiple kingdoms and extremely powerful adventurers. During that battle it was discovered that the lich was truly immortal, so it was split into six separate pieces consisting of its arms, legs, head, and torso.

The party has clashed with the cult numerous times. One fragment of the lich was successfully revived at one sixth of its full power. The party managed to defeat it, but only barely.
