Are you new to D&D or an experienced player that has nostalgia for the old style D&D games of the past? Do you want to defeat goblins, bugbears and thwart the plans of chaos to destroy your homeland? Or do you just want to earn fame and fortune testing your skills against the forces of evil? This a beginning campaign starting at level 1 and going to level 3 in part one, around 3-6 sessions depending on how fast you mow through the content. This campaign is a great way for a beginner to get their feet wet or for an experienced player just looking for a nostalgic ride into a classic dungeon crawl campaign, And yes, there will be a part 2 campaign for players looking to exploring the world in more detail and continue the fight against the forces of chaos!
The Heroes of the Borderlands is a starter set published by WotC for D&D 5th edition, 2024 rules (although they slimed down the rules for the set, as well). The core of the set comes from a classic D&D adventure that was released for Basic Dungeons & Dragons, back in 1979, module B2: The Keep on the Borderland originally authored by Gary Gygax. It was the first adventure I ever ran for D&D way back in the 80s. I want to share this experience with a new generation of D&D players!
This starter set is designed for table play with a rookie DM, but playing online adds more depth to the characters you can make and items you can find. Having a pro DM with experience means I can provide more roleplaying and background as to why you're on this adventure rather than just being a random group of raiding hobos. Even the original module lacked any context for why the party was exploring the caves and taking treasure from these poor hapless creatures (thats just how D&D started mostly hack and slash). I've added a back story that brings the party's goal into focus and hopefully encourage a deeper layer of roleplaying. NPCs will have more depth and life then just their one paragraph in the adventure book.

I don’t charge for the one on one Session 0 (we meet in my discord server), where we go over any questions about how the game sessions are run, safety tools (including my lines and veils which can help you communicate yours as well) and finally any help you need creating your character in D&D Beyond.
