DM looking for active Discord channels needing inclusive DMs to bring more game sessions to life!
Game:D&D 5e Group type:Online Experience: Veteran Location/Timezone:MST Schedule:Ideally,Discord channels operating 24/7. I would run games according to a pre-set schedule and play when available outside of my day job. Roles sought:DM(preferred) / Player Game style:80's-inspired dark fantasy w/Heavy roleplay- organized play, pre-written 5E modules, published adventures, Adventurer's League play
I invite players of all experience levels. Playing the imaginary personality of your heart's desire is the primary and most important aspect of D&D 5E and the "rule of cool" predominates any other function of the rules. I run games which are 40% role play, 35% combat, 25% exploration/dungeon crawl.
My social media/Discord channel communications are positive and focused on playing and running games. I engage with players who have good ideas and avoid "edition wars", "political ranting as it relates to D&D" and banter that is divisive and destructive. My games focus on interactions between players and NPCs and their relationships as they develop, to create infinite re-playability.
Dark Fantasy and High Fantasy are my natural go-to with worlds that involve some limited technology or science fiction aspects. I start campaigns with a long-form session zero which includes character creation and integration, world-weaving, and one-on-one character build/RP coaching, and safety tools and veils/boundaries. Inclusivity, emotional/psychological safety and freedom to speak/act/contribute is key to having fun playing. I provide all assets needed for play and can explain how to download, register and access D&D Beyond, Discord and Owlbear Rodeo.
I am very comfortable with improvisational voice acting and developing unique bonds and rivalries for your characters to nurture or exploit. I create unique tokens for all games and curate ambient sound and music to stream. (These may include the use of AI and/or potentially copywritten music or ambient sound which I do not personally own in the interest of immersion.)
I want to run and play the following games: Essential Kit/Starter Kits: Lost Mines of Phandelver, Dragon of Icespire Peak, Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. 5E Campaign Modules: Curse of Strahd, Storm King's Thunder, Tyranny of Dragons, Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen, Journeys Though the Radiant Citadel, Baldur's Gate - Descent into Avernus, Planescape - Turn of Fortune's Wheel 3rd Party: Champions of Krynn... and any classic 1E & BECMI modules updated for 5E!
Note of Clarity: Dungeons & Dragons has existed as a haven for the imagination and creativity of all people from all walks of life for 50+ years. I champion this hobby for all players regardless of ability, skill, wealth, race, religion, creed or planetary origin. We agree to the covenant of good faith gaming in a world desperately needing good community.
