🕯️ Beneath the surface of the world, something ancient stirs. Old alliances strain, long-buried secrets resurface, and a creeping darkness begins to spread.
Old alliances are broken, allies are under siege, orcs patrols raid the once peaceful forests, and an unnatural darkness fills the sky blocking the sun. The very weave of magic itself is under threat as Lolth schemes and sends her Drow minions to the surface. Do you have what it takes to stop the rising tide of darkness?
This is an epic, story-driven adventure where the rise of the drow and the quiet influence of Lolth threaten to plunge the world into chaos. Each chapter of the campaign plays like its own complete adventure, while together they build toward a larger, unfolding conflict shaped by player choices.
You’ll explore dangerous regions, uncover hidden plots, and decide how far you’re willing to go to stop a growing darkness. Character backstories are woven directly into the narrative, and the direction of the story changes based on what the party chooses to protect, pursue, or abandon.

I'm really excited about this campaign. Years ago my local board game store was giving out free rpg books, and old starter kits on free rpg day. The adventures I picked up that day in 2014 ended up being favorites at my home games and starting me on my journey to becoming a professional dungeon master. I'm so grateful to that boardgame store, as it hosted many community events. I had just moved to a new city, and my local boardgame store and comic book shop took me in. I didn't feel lonely and found my people. One of the first dates with my boyfriend of 10 years, was at that store at their 24 hour board gaming marathon during halloween. The store has since closed, and as sad as that was, I am still so grateful to have had the experience of playing and shopping there. That's what I hope to bring to my tables, a sense of welcoming and belonging.
War of Everlasting Darkness was one of the free games I took home. Its from Dungeons & Dragons Enounters 2012 season. It's been really easy to adapt for 2014 5th ed, and I had a blast playtesting with friends. It's a shorter campaign but still feels so cinematic and full. I'm thinking of going back through the D&D archives and setting up a sequel campaign with the drow and Lolth from, "Expedition to the Demonweb Pits". At the end of War of Everlasting Darkness player characters will be 8 for the final battle, but could level up to 9 for Expedition to the Demonweb Pits - this older adventure takes players from 9-12. Its currently written for 3.5, so I'm going to be very busy the next few weeks making sure it'll be ready for the end of Everlasting Darkness and 5th e. I should mention I own the physical copy and purchased pdf for War of Everlasting Darkness and was able to upload the majority of old poster maps and art to roll20.
Session Zero, was awesome! We covered introductions, table safety, campaign structure, character creation, and we did our prequel encounter to take those new characters for a ride. There's still time and 2 seats left to join before Session 1 this Friday at 7PM (PT). Will you answer the call? How will you add your strength to the party to help emerge triumphant in the 'War of Everlasting Darkness'?
Our wizard, has picked up on a mysterious signal where there should be none; for Mystra, goddess of magic, has been dead for 100 years. The weave of magic should be at rest, silent. He seeks aid along with our druid from a colleague in Quaervarr to piece together the mystery of what disturbs both magic and nature in the northern forests of the Glimmerwood.
Our paladin, trusted member of his order, is charged with the care of a new cleric recruit. An old temple of the order has gone silent. The duo travels back to discover why the wards have failed. Where is the sacred order that guards the Glimmerwood outside of Quaevarr? Why has there been no word?
Our Cleric is on his first mission that happens to be in the woods he grew up in, and has an uneasy reunion with his adoptive sibling from his past, our druid.
All paths lead to Quaevarr, as our heroes meet on the road.
Session Zero Prequel Recap:
A peaceful journey along the forest road to Quaevarr was marred by violence and evidence of foul magics. An unnatural darkness settled over the night sky, blocking out the moon's light. Shadow-touched stalkers resembling wolves sought out to destroy the group. Our newly united heroes on the road were able to hold back the darkness through faerie fire, firebolts and holy weapons bludgeoning the ghastly creatures. The creatures transformed revealing husks, malformed spirits. By pushing them back, burning them, bludgeoning, the party managed to finally turn the tide of battle in their favour. Whatever connection these creatures had to the source of their power receded. The moonlight shone through. The last husk pulled back into the shadows from which it came. The forest was silent once more. The party knows what this was, a warning of darker things to come.
