Welcome to the Humblewood

Something is wrong in the Wood.

For months now, disturbing signs have spread across Humblewood. The troubles seem to originate from the Scorched Grove — an ashen wasteland left behind by a catastrophic fire centuries ago.

The land there is scarred by elemental magic.
Nothing grows. Only strange fire-born creatures survive.

Recently, the Grove has begun to expand.

At first the change was subtle. But those attuned to nature — especially the Tenders — can feel the elemental balance shifting. Across the Wood, drought spreads. Crops fail. Forest fires grow more common.

And emberbat swarms have begun appearing far beyond their natural range.

Most people of the Wood do not yet understand the truth.

A corvum necromancer has awakened a dormant elemental aspect of fire buried beneath the Grove since the ancient blaze. Its growing power is empowering fire creatures across Humblewood. Emberbat swarms spread new flames. Refugees from burned homesteads turn to banditry.

And soon…

The elemental incarnation will awaken fully.

If no one stops it, the Wood will burn again.

About Your DM

I've been running D&D for over 25 years, and have been DMing professionally since 2021.

I started playing during 2nd Edition, and my philosophy has always been simple:

The players write the story. I'm the editor.

Your character choices matter. Your decisions shape the direction of the adventure. Even when using published material, I tailor the story to the party so every group experiences something unique.

Veterans who have played the adventure before may even encounter a few surprises.

I believe strongly in RAW and RAI — your abilities do what they say they do — but I also encourage creativity. Clever ideas and imaginative play are always welcome at my table.

My games aim for:

• Rich narrative and memorable NPCs
• Player-driven storytelling
• Challenging tactical combat
• A balance of roleplay and action

Some sessions may unfold entirely through roleplay.
Others may throw you into a desperate battle against deadly foes.
