🐉 Dark Fantasy Campaign – Seeking 3 Players (Sundays, 18:00 UK)
System: D&D 5e Platform:D&D Beyond (primary) + Discord (voice & organisation) Schedule: Sundays, 18:00–22:00 (UK time, sessions may run longer) Party Size: Expanding to 5–6 players Spots Available: 3 Age Requirement: 20+ preferred
🧙 About Me (Your DM)
I’ve been DMing for about 2 years, running a consistent campaign with a small group. Over that time, I’ve developed a style that focuses heavily on player enjoyment, creativity, and collaborative storytelling.
I’m not a strict rules lawyer. While I understand the rules and use them as a foundation, I won’t let them get in the way of a great moment. If you come to the table with a creative or cinematic idea—even if it bends the rules a bit—I’m always open to working something out. For me, D&D is at its best when players feel like they can truly try things, not just follow a rulebook.
🌑 Campaign Tone & Setting
This campaign leans strongly into dark fantasy themes. Expect a world that can be harsh, morally complex, and sometimes unsettling. The tone won’t be watered down, so if you’re not comfortable with darker storytelling, this likely isn’t the campaign for you.
That said, it’s not all doom and gloom—there will still be moments of humour, camaraderie, and triumph. The contrast is what makes those moments hit harder.
The setting also draws inspiration from One Piece, blended into a more grounded, darker world. This includes:
Haki-inspired abilities that enhance combat and presence
Devil Fruit-style powers that offer unique and sometimes unpredictable abilities
A custom roll system tied to rare traits (such as special lineage elements or conqueror-style abilities)
These systems are designed to add individuality and excitement to characters without overwhelming the core D&D experience.
⚔️ What the Game Will Be Like
You can expect a balanced mix of:
Roleplay: Meaningful character interactions, choices that matter, and opportunities to shape the story
Combat: Tactical and cinematic encounters, with room for creativity
Exploration: Dangerous locations, hidden lore, and a world that reacts to your actions
Player agency is a big focus. Your decisions will have real consequences, and the story will evolve based on what the party chooses to do.
📜 Character Creation
I want players to feel invested in their characters from the start.
When joining:
Send me your character ideas (even rough ones are fine)
I’ll help you build and refine them
We’ll work together to tie your backstory into the world
Whether you come with a fully fleshed-out concept or just a vague idea, I’m happy to help shape it into something that fits the campaign.
💻 Tools & How We Play
We’ll primarily use D&D Beyond for character sheets and management
Discord will be used for voice chat, session coordination, and sharing content
I’m still learning Roll20, so it may be used lightly or introduced more over time
⏰ Schedule & Commitment
Sundays, 18:00–22:00 (UK time)
Sessions may occasionally run longer depending on the situation
Consistency is important for keeping the story flowing:
Missing a session now and then is completely fine
Repeated or frequent absences will result in losing your place
👥 What I’m Looking For in Players
Preferably 20+, to match the current group (I’m 21, others are similar age)
Players who enjoy dark fantasy and immersive storytelling
People who are reliable and respectful of others’ time
Players who like being creative and engaged, both in and out of sessions
New players are absolutely welcome—as long as you’re willing to learn and get involved.
📩 How to Apply
If you’re interested, send me a message with:
A bit about yourself
Your experience with D&D (if any)
Any character ideas you’d like to play
Feel free to ask any questions as well—I’m happy to chat and make sure the campaign is a good fit for you 👍
I would love to join your group. The campaign sounds cool - it is hard not to like the world of Monkey D. Luffy! I played a lot of DND 20 years ago, so I will be going into this with the mind set of a noob.
Im Lukas 26 from germany so the shedule time is peak for me
as for my experience, if started playing dnd second edition about 8 years ago and quickly turned my eyes to 5e and been playing ever since in various role-play driven games with alot of people i got to know that way, some i even play with till today, so DnD is a big part of my life and i am also planing to run my own game in the near future so getting more different experiences is always greatly appreciated ^^
character wise i honestly love to just spin a story around my character, i usualy get a pretty good idea/inspiration as soon as i start talking about the campagine with my DM´s and get their imput, also i always wanna avoid to have simulare characters then the other guys so as of now i just have a few vage ideas.
so yeah just hit me up if my poor articulation did impress you cough cough
My Discord user is: alfgor (i dont look on beyond that often so its easier on DC directly ^^)
