Public afternoon lunch/drinks meetup for all interested in meeting new people to play DnD 5e with. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bit about me: 25yo, married, 1 kid with another due in Feb. Played DnD on and off for about 5yrs. People move away and groups fall through so I need a new squad to burn villages down accidentally with (cough cough... or on purpose). Goal: To form a frequent group who play DnD.
Frequency: Looking for a weekly or fortnightly meetup. Up for suggestions and will chat about times/locations of play when meetup.
Group size: My favourite setup is to have 5 players and 1 DM. Have had groups in the past that vary between 2 players and 8 players depending on how many people are available to play on the given night. Can form a few different groups if a lot of people show.
What you need/experience: Nothing. new players and experienced welcome. I have all the gear required for tabletop play and can DM if needed. Have also introduced and taught a lot of noobs to play.
Type of game: If I DM the type of games I love to make are custom ongoing adventures where you start at a lower level and play through a world ending up as a godlike entity by the end of the campaign (or dead with a new character). Challenging/different encounters each game/plot twists/Heaps of loot/make players feel op but still you may die, and more fun orientated. Numbers and rules still in play for an even game but I don't like the games where you just go from encounter to encounter debating about rules. homebrew ftw.
Location: Beach house bar and grill. Orion central shopping centre, Springfield Lakes. Located right in the middle of main street and the shops, next to the big fountain! Orion Springfield Central, 40/1 Main St, Springfield Central QLD 4300
Date/time: 3pm on Sunday the 14th of January, 2018 If you can't make it or want to post times that better suit you please do so. If a few people can't make it we can chat about times that may suit everyone.
If you haven't got a DnD beyond account make one and begin exploring.
Please comment if you are attending and maybe a bit about yourself (newbie/pro, what you want out of a game, ect). Also meetup link here:
Hay me and possibly a friend are interested, we are playing our first game at Indooroopilly on the 20th but would love to join a local group. Plus your play style sounds heaps better then a strict game.
Another Older gamer, i've played a lot of different rpg's, DM'd a fair bit and am really interested in playing D&D again. I have no experience with 5th ed, but how much different can it be......
I also have a large collection of miniatures i can bring to help out as needed.
Look forward to catching you all next weekend then......luckily my weekend off
Hi guys, I'm a D&D total noob, but I've recently gotten really into Critical Role, I thought for the fun of it, I'd roll a character, and now I really want to play. Are you guys still meeting up, and open to a new player joining the campaign?

Hi Folks! This sounds good to me too.
I'm an "ancient" gamer, and first played D&D in '80. I've played a bit of 5e over the last few years as well.
