[Online][5e - 2014][Fridays][6:00pm EST] Bi-monthly D&D game

Schedule: ~2 Fridays per month 6:00 EST

Roles sought: 3-6 players

I run a ~twice monthly D&D game that is currently on hiatus. I'm running a one-shot this week to allow players to try out my GM style and see if there is a good fit. If there is, we'll game roughly twice monthly depending on schedules.

Here's the blurb for the trial session: People have been going missing in the port city of Breault. At first it was occasionally but now it is almost a nightly occurrence. You've been asked to investigate what is stalking the nights of Breault and put an end to it.

The game is first person role playing, good aligned heroes, with limited/no out of character, and is a touch on the grittier side. I have 40+ years of xp as a GM but this would be a great game for beginners.

Game will be 5e 2014 and not using most 2024 rules as of yet. All previously published official WotC classes are available but the game only has the SRD loaded (so anything you don't have access to will need to be programmed into Roll20 before the start of the game). We are starting at level 1 using standard array (15,14,13,12,10,8; +2/+1 decoupled as per Tasha's).

We will be using video as it greatly enhances the roleplay.

Briefly tell me a little about your hero in 2-3 sentences: we're talking about a huge happy-go-lucky dude who's also absurdly shy and doesn't want to be the center of attention. he's absolutely convinced of a legend stating that goliaths are actually short giants. he's taken it upon himself to gather evidence for the legend's truthfulness, and that's also why he's trying his very best to understand the mystery that's the way of the rune knight

How long have you been playing table-top RPGs? Playing since 2nd edition in the 80s

What will your race, class, and subclass be? I like the Lore Bard / Knowledge Cleric dual class setup; Race: High Elf

Briefly tell me a little about your hero in 2-3 sentences:

I was born in Elarith; just outside of the capital region of the Aelthirion Conclave. Our multigeneration family home builds around the Vaelthir, our family crypt and forest. The home is built out of the natural earth and woods of the land by singing our spells to mold the environment to our needs. Each forest member is the living memory of our past ancestors. We sing open the tree to walk down to each individual family member's crypt.

Reason for travel:
Study of our ancestral lineage and histories, I discovered entire volumes of texts missing about a specific time period of our founding family members. These discovered truths could have geopolitical implications for our current political strategies and our responsibilities to the world we pulled away from. These members may have been involved in the Curse of Bragenhold. We may have discovered the creation of vampirism due to researching the longevity of our race but its inability to reach immortality.
