Hey there. Glad you decided to click and check out who we are.
We're two North American friends who have played together for about 4 years (and live across the continent from each other!). We both love D&D and want to play with a new group of folks that also want a long term game.
We do have some requests but don't be disconcerted about the amount ;)
1. Culture friendly group. We're both adults and would love groups that are adults. Not huge groups, maybe 5 players at max so that everyone gets a chance.
2. Free games (we play for fun and are looking for a game to enjoy with others)
3. High Fantasy/classic D&D type of game but homebrew world. No modules please. No pure Horror. 5.5e preferred but we might be talked into 5e.
4. Weekly game - Tuesday or Thursdays only. We're both North America (separate sides of the continent. Friends :) ) Longterm only preferred.
5. Possibility of approved homebrew within character creation? Weird characters gonna weird. Mostly it's converting 5e subclasses into 5.5e. We don't do homebrew in creation often since we play themed characters usually, so don't worry.
6. Neither one of us are willing to start at lvl 1 again, so lvl 3 or higher start games only please?
7. We actually came prepared and have a character for each of us drawn up already. (5.5e but we did make a 5e version just in case)
3 bard warforged (who looks like a marionette) (they might have a touch of twilight cleric or monk depending on ability scores and 5e or 5.5e)
1 sorc/2 bard (going to be Desert Soul) Tabaxi Reborn. aka Cat Mummy lol. Here's one of the converting subclasses btw.
8. Lastly, this list may seem excessive but if you've actually read this far and agree, you're ahead of about 98% of other DMs and we already love you .
Both of us are very creative with characters and while neither of us are min/maxers at all, we do like to optimize if the character concept asks for it. (Trust me, I've had character that are sub-optimal just because of character theme lol)
VTT choice (we've played most so that's not really a big deal) but discord is a must and we both use DNDbeyond for character sheets and content sharing, if that's ok.
I'm starting a new campaign coming soon. I'll answer each request for ya.
Background: Been a DM for 10+ years, Have one current campaign going (1 year+), have completed 2+ year campaigns, done and completed an epic level campaign. Did a campaign of all created classes that went 1+ years. Play in CST (Tuesdays or Thursdays)
1. The group I'm looking to have for this campaign will be 4 players, 5 max. The two I have in the party are diehard D&D fans and are committed for the long haul.
2. As long as you're committed to the cause, my games will be free. I just ask that you are responsive in the discord when I ask for feedback, possible date changes, and etc.
3. Everything I do is homebrewed, and I'm more versed in 5e but I do have the current campaign I'm working on fully set up for 5.5e (2024) so this is not a problem.
4. I will have Thursdays more available than Tuesdays but the sessions will be one of those days.
5. I have all homebrew upgraded classes for the core 12 classes so, if you wanna be weird go for it. Current campaign I have a Smoke Genasi that is a homebrew created character (Umbral Spellblade) a combo of using chaos bolt unlimited but have fatigue factors and using a blade that gives a tint aura armor, so I go with the weird. Campaign prior had a Mystic in it so bring it on.
6. Here's the first true compromise, I'm starting at 2, if/when we have a discussion in the near future I am more than happy to see about starting at 3. I also HATE level 1 with a passion, so I feel ya there. I was going to start 2 for I was going to make this a campaign for newer players and didn't want to start high again. Normally all my campaigns start at 3 but this one was going to be 2 but we can discuss further.
7. For the desert soul, the campaign will not be anywhere near a desert, matter fact there are islands and a bunch of forest. Will this be ok? Also, I like the warforged idea and being a marionette is very interesting, you're pulling the mechanical Pinocchio.
8. Yes, I did read the whole thing LMAO.
The game itself is in Roll20 but I have a discord channel so that is where we go to actually play and roll20 is more for the rolling and visuals. DNDBeyond character sheets are fine, Roll20 allows for them so we should be good to go there too.
If we get a chance to have a conversation in the future I can show you some of my creative stuff and see if we can make it work here.
Hope to hear from you soon!
