I’m looking for players for a long-term D&D 5e campaign called Ashes of the Unbroken set in the continent of Listriell — a world recovering from an old war that nearly destroyed everything.
The campaign focuses heavily on mystery, roleplay, exploration, character development, and uncovering secrets hidden beneath the world’s surface.
About the Campaign
Setting
Listriell is a land of massive arcane cities, industrial regions, ancient ruins, dangerous wilderness, and nations still dealing with the aftermath of the War of Iron and Ash.
For the past 20 years, adventurers, powerful mages, and high-ranking guards have been disappearing across the continent without explanation. No bodies are ever found, and most cases are quietly written off.
The world keeps moving forward anyway.
Tone
Dark fantasy
Heavy roleplay
Mystery/investigation
Slow-burn storytelling
Emotional character moments
Moral choices that matter
What to Expect
A lot of world lore and exploration
Character backstories tied into the campaign
Political tension and hidden factions
Meaningful choices with lasting consequences
A balance of roleplay, combat, and investigation
Long-term story progression
What I’m Looking For
Players who enjoy roleplay and collaborative storytelling
People willing to engage with the world and party
Players who enjoy serious moments but still know how to have fun
New and experienced players are both welcome
Logistics
Platform: Discord Schedule: Every other Sunday at 8 PM EST Voice: Required Campaign Length: Long-term Starting Level: 3
Character Stuff
Characters should feel like they belong in the world and have reasons to adventure.
Each player will also start with a homebrew item tied to their character and that will level up during the campaign.
If the campaign sounds interesting, feel free to message me.
I would be very interested in joining your Campaign. I prefer long campaigns rather than throw together one time adventures. I ran a huge campaign that had 20 players in 4 separate groups back in the 70s as pbm. As some background in my playing time, I actually played D&D before it was published as a impromptu play-testers in 1970-1971 with Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson and Brian Blume. During the 80s & 90s played off and on and during the 90s most of those games were hosted/DM'd by Dave Arneson. Most of my playtime has been in the online game Everquest/Everquest2 and now that I'm retired want to get back to playing as was always a lot of fun. I've never played via Discord or DndBeyond, have both now that I'm looking into playing again, miss the social aspect of it. Sunday evenings would work great for me. Looking forward to hearing back from you. You can contact me directly via email if you'd like, my email is elfkingsteve@yahoo.com.
