You are already members of a pirate crew nearing the end of a long voyage through the Northern Currents.
For an entire day, your ship was battered by a monstrous storm. The crew fought through violent waves, shattered rigging, flooding decks, and winds powerful enough to tear sailors from their posts. During the chaos, Captain Maclear was swept overboard and disappeared beneath the black water.
No one made much effort to save him.
Maclear was vicious, cruel, and ruled his ship like a floating prison. With the captain gone, the surviving crew can finally decide what kind of ship this will become and who will take command.
Unfortunately, freedom comes with responsibilities, enemies, unpaid debts, and whatever waits beyond the storm.
The sea is filled with haunted islands, rival crews, naval powers, sea monsters, magical disasters, and treasures that were buried for very good reasons.
Welcome aboard.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This will be a player-driven campaign focused on:
• Piracy and shipboard life
• Exploring islands, ports, ruins, and uncharted waters
• High-magic nautical combat
• Rival pirates, naval forces, and dangerous factions
• Carnival-inspired chaos, strange performers, and unpredictable encounters
• A mixture of roleplaying, combat, exploration, and social encounters
The campaign begins at Level 5. Players will have room to create characters who already have experience and a reason to be serving aboard a pirate vessel.
PLAYER EXPECTATIONS
Attendance is important.
This is a weekly campaign with five-hour sessions, and players should be prepared to attend consistently. Occasional emergencies happen, but frequent absences, repeated last-minute cancellations, or unreliable attendance will not work for this table.
Players should also be willing to:
• Work cooperatively with the rest of the crew
• Create a character who wants to participate in the campaign
• Share the spotlight
• Communicate scheduling problems as early as possible
• Engage with the world rather than waiting to be carried through it
• Participate in a one-on-one interview before joining
Interviews will be conducted individually to discuss character ideas, campaign expectations, playstyle, scheduling, and whether the table is a good fit for everyone involved.
