Long time DM looking to start a new campaign in a homebrew setting that I’ve been running campaigns in for years. This long term, high fantasy journey will take you all across the world Aelo as you travel with a group of pilgrims undergoing an ancient tradition to travel from one side of the world to the other. Some of the key elements to this campaign will be the bastion rules featured in the DMG as well as more realistic resting rules that will make your hit points a resource you don’t throw away lightly. I’m looking for players who are experienced with the game, committed to making a schedule work, and interested in building a character that feels at home within the world. As a DM I believe in the idea that the players create the story just as much as I do so feel free to build a real story for your character and I’ll work with you to make sure it is a major part of our game and the world. Don’t be afraid to build powerful characters! If your character can do awesome stuff that annihilates hordes of enemies that is AWESOME!
Campaign Intro: How far are you willing to go for enlightenment? Can you sacrifice your ego and your goals for the betterment of the world? This is the creed of the “Pilgrims of the Sunset Path.” Once every ten years a group of monks set out from the gates of the great city of Salvation on a journey of spiritual growth. They leave knowing that they will never return, they may die, they may get lost, they may find a new home along the way, or they may even reach the end of their path staring out over the sunset on the western shores of Aelo… regardless of their path they know that wherever this journey takes them is where they are meant to be. Are you a mercenary tagging along to protect the pilgrims at the promise of gold? Are you a refugee hiding amongst the crowds that follow this most famous expedition? Or are you a pilgrim yourself? The choice is yours but one thing is for certain… the sunset path is never straight and those who walk it find that the journey is often more important than the destination.
