Campaign is now full, if any players drop out I'll update the post, so you won't be entirely out of luck!
Changed, only once every other week, potentially less due to the amount of things I have going on, but I'll try not to bail out!
Heads up, I'm not an adult yet and I do sound younger than I am, so if that's a hard cutoff for you then I apologize.
(And if every week doesn't work out, we'll try every other week, we'll start on either the 6th of july or the 13th of july!)
Game: D&D 5.5e Group type: Online Experience: New, just a few months Location/Timezone: Central Standard Time Schedule: Every tuesday at 6:00 PM CST, or every other tuesday if that's too often. Roles sought: Looking for up to 5 players Game style: It's forgotten mines of phandelver, so it's simple, easy, and probably familiar save for some light homebrew, if you're looking for a relatively lighthearted game where the DM is pretty loose about rules, this is probably the game for you!
I'm an amateur DM looking to DM for an online group of 4-5 players, you'll be playing "Lost Mines of Phandelver" with a potentially a little bit of homebrew, I'm alright with any degree of roleplay, although I personally suck at it so it's gonna be pretty light from my part.
Books: DnD Beyond 2024 core rules, and Tasha's cauldron of everything.
Pros to joining: I'm a really flexible DM, and if I think something is cool enough, I'll probably let it slide, and I'm more than ok with a range of players, you can know practically nothing about DnD, or be a super expert, I'm more than ok with that! Cons to joining: I'm also an amateur DM, some rules you might have to clarify for me, and sometimes the dialogue may sound a little unnatural or I may stutter but I need to get the experience one way or another.
Requirements to join: basically, speak good english, have a DnD beyond account, and be above 16 (don't actually tell me your age though)
Rules for playing 1. don't try to backseat DM, clarification is great, but if you're trying to narrate what the NPC does then that kind ruins my whole flow. 2. nothing super sexual, I'm just not comfortable with it, if you wanna hit on the female bartender then I don't mind, but don't go groping her or trying to get in bed with her. 3. Do not cheat, this is a given but i still feel the need to clarify what it means A. changing your character's stats, spell slots, or items without consulting me beforehand. B. lying about your stats, health, or rolls (I will know) C. acting like your character knows something they shouldn't (like you roll a 5 and your buddy rolls a 16, and your buddy sees the robed figure brandishing a dagger, you can't just react and push the robed figure away) 4. Don't pass anybody's boundaries, D&D is a game where you can do practically anything, but if you repeatedly do something to deliberately insult me or another player, or intentionally make anybody uncomfortable, I may consider removing you from the campaign. 5. Know your turn, don't try to interrupt another player's turn or the enemies turn unless you have a specific ability that says you can do so. 6. Pay attention to the game, getting distracted is inevitable and I don't mind if you're scrolling social media, but if you're repeatedly doing something else and I have to call on you to make your turn and then tell you what's happening, it comes off as incredibly disrespectful to both me and the other players who are actually participating. 7. character creation, just don't make a Mary Sue or a character that you know will be difficult to manage or handle, also don't choose 2014 classes, blood hunter, or artificer. also use standard array when choosing your stats! 8. we'll only play if we have more than half the players, for example, there's 4 total players, but only 2 arrive, we won't play, but if there's 4 total players and 3 arrive, then we will, if there's an uneven amount of players then we'll round down the total player count, so if there's 5 players but only 3 arrive then we won't play. However, if there's less than the required player count twice in a row, then I'll do a short session for those that are there.
If you're interested, shoot me a message and I'll give you my discord info!
hey beginner at DnD, and all your rules sound valid. i wish i had more to say lol, i guess id say "Pick Me Please" and it'll be an honor to have you be the DM
Brand new, never played before. Played Baulders gate 3 and listened to some DnD before though. Meet all your requirements.
I see you found the group, but I will put it in there in case you need/want an extra. Looking to have fun, all the rules sound reasonable...although I was looking forward to cheating (darn lol) No need to shoot a message unless you need me. Willing to fill any role as all the classes sound interesting. Mature, will need help on a few things, but have most of everything figured out on DnD beyond.
