Icewind Dale has become trapped in a perpetual winter. Ferocious blizzards make the mountain pass through the Spine of the World exceedingly treacherous, and this land has not felt the warmth of the sun in over two years. In fact, the sun no longer appears above the mountains, not even in what should be the height of summer. In this frozen tundra, darkness and bitter cold reign as king and queen. Most dale residents blame Auril the Frostmaiden, the god of winter's wrath. The shimmering aurora that weaves across the sky each night is said to be her doing - a potent spell that keeps the sun at bay.
Dalefolk live in a scattering of settlements known as Ten-Towns. The drop-off in caravans coming from the south and travel between settlements in this never-ending winter has left everyone feeling isolated. Although each town has resolved to appease the Frostmaiden with sacrifices of one kind or another, no respite from winter's fury seems forthcoming. For adventurers such as yourselves, Ten-Towns is a place to test one's mettle and, in the spirit of heroes who have come before, leave one's mark on this frigid, blighted land.
Hello! We are 3 players and a DM currently seeking another player to join our Discord group and round out our party for the campaign of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. Players will begin at 1st level and work cooperatively through the campaign up to 12th level. This campaign will focus mostly on combat and roleplay scenarios and will contain elements of survival and horror, with an emphasis on resource management. We will be playing with the 5e (2014) rule set and incorporating several expanded resources such as Grim Hollow, Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting and Valda's Spire of Secrets, to name a few.
Our current party includes the following: - Accursed Blood Hunter - Goliath Fighter - Warforged Gunslinger
Sessions for the campaign are expected to run bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 11:30am Eastern for approximately 4 hours, with a short break anticipated near the middle of session. Voice chat will be conducted on Discord (no cams necessary), while character sheets and the campaign as a whole will be managed on D&D Beyond and DDB Maps. For the sake of transparency, the age group of the party ranges mostly from mid/late 20's to early 30's.
If you are at all interested in joining our group, feel free to leave your Discord handle as well as a brief synopsis of your character idea, if you have one, in the comments. Thank you for your consideration.

Absolutely love the vibes of everything going on here but I only have a rotating day off so I’m not free in the middle of the day on Tuesday consistently 😭
I've been there. Those sorts of schedules are pretty hard to work around. But, as I said, sessions will be held on a bi-weekly (every other week) schedule, if that makes our group sound more convenient for you! In an ideal scenario, I'd be holding a session zero next Tuesday (6/30) and then we'd be playing every two weeks after that.
