Hi all. I DM a group of wonderful crazy people in a weekly game but unfortunately we've lost a few people recently so [fortunately for someone here] I find myself in need of another insane and wonderful adventurer.
Basic Details: Game: Homebrew (mainly standard fantasy but we do have guns) Day: Sundays Time: 10.30am-1.30pm (roughly) BST Place: Online (VTT, Discord, D&D Beyond) Spaces: 1 (basically first come first served)
Requirements: Attendance: Regular (we need someone who can commit 99% of the time) Experience: Any (more experience is preferable but we've no problem playing with someone new, though please kind in mind the detail campaign info below) Role: Any (if you want to play an arcane caster, that would be a bonus but whatever you want) Age: 20+ General: the usual, respectful and kind. Don't be rude to other players. Don't hog the scenes. If you have a problem, let's settle it through conversation. We're all adults here.
The Game, the Group & Me (Details).
As I said above it's a homebrew world. I draw on official lore somewhat but mainly it's a story and world I craft myself, drawing on various sources. The current campaign is set in a zombie apocalypse world where the players were famous/infamous people resurrected to protect a small settlement suicide squad style. They've since helped that settlement grow into one of the few surviving bastions of civilisation and are pushing to overthrow Dread Emperor and prevent his plans of creating a solely undead Empire.
This is our 2nd campaign and w'ere nearing the end (we're lv 15). We'll be starting our next campaign soon. I promise you'll have plenty of opportunities for your PC's development and working on their backstory, even in this later stage of the game. I've done it several times before.
We're a group of 5 or 6 players. They're a crazy & fun bunch, doing everything from turning the Barbarian into a whale to drop from 1000ft onto the Villain's mansion to devising a stratagem to take down a 30,000 strong army of undead, and everything in between. We enjoy mysteries, combat, puzzles. We love to RP (and we're terrible at accents, those of us that bother to try) and to come up with crazy plans. We try to create real risk in our combats and/or sometimes break the traditional group up and hit till it dies approach with something that requires us to be a little more circumspect. We like a good laugh and a serious game equally.
Myself: I've been DMing for about 6 years now. My primary goal is to ensure all my players have fun (and me too sometimes). I love homebrew and I'm very flexible on letting my players try homebrew stuff for the characters (we've one PC vampire, 1 PC with a homebrew subclass & 1 with a homebrew class) as long as we don't break the game doing so. I'm really good at stories and love working with my players to craft a story and to make it part of the world (your backstory, even if it's just a single sentence, will come into play at some point). I generally stick to RAW but my philosophy is, the rules are more like guidelines: that is to say, there are times we find the rules inadequate for what we want to do in the game and so I homebrew accordingly.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If this sounds like a game you might enjoy, send me a message and we can discuss the further details and see if we like each other. Looking forward to hearing from you.
