Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: very little DMing but long time player Location/Timezone: Est Schedule: Saturday 7:00 pm Est Roles sought: Players 2-4 (have two already) Game style: Mix of Role Play, combat, political, puzzle, investigation / exploration.
Hey everyone, I am looking for 2-4 players possibly for a dnd 5e game. I will be using dnd beyond and roll20.net for the campaign. Im looking for players who can be sure to show up on time. We will be running at 7pm est saturdays, would prefer if players show up early. I am willing to run weekly or bi-weekly depending on what people can commit to but would prefer weekly.
The type of players i'm looking for are interested in the RP aspect of the game, not only between DM and Player but player to player as well. Have others discover who your character is through in game interactions, not just "here is my backstory lets kill stuff". The first few sessions will be more combat heavy so I can see how you interact with each other and the world around you to mold the story and game to what the group wants to do so we can all have fun.
Session 0 will be an introduction to world, and answer any questions from you all.
After that we will roll for stats TOGETHER (not before) using either; 4d6 drop lowest or 2d6+6. Also vote as a group to decide if they want to role stats in order. I have found that this has people step outside of their comfort zone and play something they may not be used to.
If this all goes smoothly we may jump in and get started.
At the start of the next session you are expected to have your backstory complete and submitted to me. We will not share backstories out of character, it is up to you all to role-play it and have each other discover what makes you tick.
No rule lawyers please, it is a home-brew.
For those we are interested here is an intro to this home-brew world.
Isle of Eight
Talarei is a land filled with political tension between the different races. Battle after battle and terror after terror the land has been ravaged by conflict. All the races are striving to advance their people and their own agenda over the others. The only time the races have come together as one was almost 200 years ago during the "Spinel Assault". This was a full military campaign against the dragon queen herself, Tiamat. All the other races had to come together or risk being ruled by this legendary monstrosity.
The wars that decimated the lands stopped 93 years ago with the "Gold Arch Accord", a pact between all 8 races to cease open battle with one another for no less than 100 years. A major part of the accord was the mutual destruction of all seafaring craft. The only exception is 1 trade and 1 fishing vessel per capital. These vessels are able to carry passengers on them from port to port, but it is very expensive to secure passage, and only the elite can afford it. This semblance of peace was made possible because the Elven sage "Kaynthar The Wise" who told all kingdoms of an encroaching darkness that was spreading, feeding on the hate and misery of all people. Kaynthar foresaw that if the fighting did not stop the world would be consumed by a darkness worse than that of Tiamat. Since then the different capital cities have started to cooperate, and some have even had a sense of camaraderie, but it is rare.
In these times adventurers are seen as defenders of the kingdoms. The simple fact is that no capital wants to send its own soldiers to deal with the encroaching darkness for fear of invasion. The adventurers are the ones to combat the forces of darkness in the crevices of Talarei and are rewarded and praised. The dark reality of this is that many adventures have perished, either by the dark forces that stir in the night or by other adventurers like themselves in a pursuit of their own ambitions. With little support from the capital cities directly this is the way of the world. Your story begins with you all, with dreams of grandeur. You have traveled to the Merriam Vale to seek out Elaria Feywing to train you on how to be an adventurer.

Hi, I'm Stabs. I'm 34 and looking forward to trying d&d!
I played for a few weeks online but we lost our DM looking for new group! I've watched all of critical role so I have some second hand knowledge on rules. I have a character built through dnd beyond, DM approval of course.

Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New (I have played Pathfinder for a few months but want to try D&D 5e because it seems better IMO Location/Timezone: Colorado (Mountain Time) Schedule: Saturday at 5pm MST/7pm EST works for me Roles sought: Player - What type of class/role does the group still need? Game style: I love role-playing but am new to it. I love story, so exploration and talking to PCs and NPCs are right up my ally.
Hey I am Joshua, age 24, and have been playing for over a year but my in town DM hosts his campaign on Sundays and I cant play anymore. This would be my first online campaign if I played but I am EST and I am free on Saturdays. Your campaign sounds really interesting and the time is super convenient. My preference has always been social build characters since I like the interactive rp of dnd the most. My discord is tough617#1229 if you want to message me there or here it doesnt matter.
