Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New (~6 months for 3 players, <1 month for 1 player) Location/Timezone: EST (US East Coast) Schedule: Weekly playing on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, starting around 8:15 PM with a session lasting between 3 and 4 hours. Roles sought: DM Game style: Casual/Semi-casual
We're looking for a DM who above all else can, will, and wants to communicate with us. While we'd prefer a DM who has a bit of experience under their belt we're also open minded to having a new DM.
We're spread across the east coast so the platform must be online, and while we're not tied to using Roll20, it is the platform we're most comfortable/familiar with. Also we prefer to use discord for voice, again for comfort/familiarity, but we're open to suggestions.
We're a pretty casual group of people, and our main goal is for everyone to be enjoying the play time. We're still working on our role playing, voice acting, and the such but we're trying to learn/improve (and will be open to suggestions given in a constructive manor). We do bring up mature topics and language so we'd prefer someone who is comfortable with mature subject matter and language.
We're a group of four currently looking for a DM for any content (published or custom) in the 5e ruleset.
DM's, could you tell me a bit about your DM style, house rules, and anything that you have to have or prefer from your parties?
Edit: Updated a few description things and added some questions for DM's responding.
I'm assuming you guys are wanting to play 5e? although I'm open to any edition except 4th. Also, how many of you are there in the group? I'd be fine with Roll20/Discord combo
My fault for not being a bit more explicit about those things, we currently have four players and intend on playing 5e. Could you tell us a bit more about your DM style (modules you like to run or a brief overview of your custom content if that's what you prefer to run)? Anything you prefer from your groups or house rules that you run that we may not be familiar with?
I haven't DM'd much in a while, and just getting back into it. I'd currently be available to DM on Thursday evening. I'm still getting the reigns on 5e and haven't seen anything really requiring house rules at the moment (that could obviously change in the near future). I try to be energetic and charismatic in my DM'ing and make it fun and lively (nothing worse than boring DM's who feel like theyr'e just reading script lol). We could start out with the Hoard of the Dragon Queen adventure if you guys wanted, or if you're not experienced with 5e yet, we could run the starter adventure just to get a feel for ir

Hey SD_Houston,
