I would like to hire abroad your ship to set sail and cross the seas to find fame and fortune or whatever the gods intend me to find.
I am personally working in Hospitality, am in my mid 30s and have played D&D mainly at the computer games. I do currently DM a group of newcomers and have played many other Pen & Paper games such as Vampires and The Dark Eye.
I do own everything here on dndbeyond concerning rules and content.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
This looks great. A bit about me: I discovered D&D over a year ago and have been DMing and playing regularly since. As for PbP, I've been playing for over a decade over a variety of forums and genres. This is my first foray into D&D PbP which is a very exciting prospect as it fuses two of my favourite pastimes! I have read over several threads in the category so I'm confident I've been shown most of the ropes (pun intended).
If I were lucky enough to join you on this voyage, I intend to play a grizzled salt-of-the-earth sea dog in the role of boatswain; a hill dwarf battlemaster fighter. He takes no nonsense and has over two centuries worth of experience at sea so he knows the ships like the backs of his weather-worn, callused hands.
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
In Character: "Ah, ahoy! Ah, is it ok to say that while we're still on land, actually? Hmmm, never thought to ask Father that. Anyway, ah, hi I'm Gerruk Smith, but you can call me Rook. I'll admit I don't have much sailing experience, but I work hard and have heard all about the duties of a sailor from my father." Those doing the hiring can see that Rook is a lanky lad but with a good build like he's done many a day of hard manual labor. "He was a sailor, although we're not from around here. Father is very sick and I need to earn some coin to take care of him and mum. What do you say? I'll do any work you need! I'm sure there's some work no one else wants to do, right? What do you call it, swabbing the deck? Emptying the pots, perhaps? I'll take anything. Father is a good man and a man of faith, and I think if I work hard here the Gods will grant our family just enough to have peace, health and happiness."
Out of Character: What Rook is not saying is that he is Gerruk Ca'frey, son of... 'infamous'... sailor Venald Ca'frey. Venald was a respected captain of a trade ship, ferrying the good of many different merchants from place to place. He fought fairly well, too, and survived many an attack from pirates. Venald tells Rook much of the lore of the sea, and unfortunately one such story strikes home for Venald. He found himself fighting for his own life and the life of his crew against long odds and had to make a dark sacrifice to save them. Venald was thus stricken with one of the darker curses known out there on the open seas. His behavior became erratic and he became a danger to himself and his men. Venald's patron seemed to be whipping him into a frenzy of violence and rage, driving him towards becoming more of a murderous pirate captain than a respected purveyor of merchant's goods. After delivering some violent orders to his crew amidst his erratic behavior, which they refused to follow, the crew forced Venald to retire to the mainland with his wife and infant son. All knew of his affliction, and none would hire him back on to any ship. His violence and behavior did calm on the main land, but his health began to fail instead. His patron would punish him in this way for not carrying out his evil duties at sea. After years of declining health Venald is now at the brink of death, and his son wishes to find the money to save his family. (Need to work out pact/curse specifics with the DM, so being vague here.)
What neither Rook nor Venald know, however is that Venald's curse will pass to Rook upon the father's death. The patron won't let go that easily once a pact is made, after all. (If Aasimar is allowed, I will take this one step further. If just half-elf, I will not. Because Venald was a man of faith (deity pending more study on Aasimar), the gods saw fit to bestow upon his son the gifts of being made an Aasimar to combat this evil. The good aligned god would see Rook return to the sea, find this evil, and destroy it for the good of all. This leaves Rook in the unique position of having his very body and soul tied to both angel and demon, imbued with the powers of both, if his father dies, that is...)
Race: Aasimar if allowed, otherwise Half-Elf
Class: Hexblade Warlock
Age: 18
Look: Need to study up on Aasimar appearances and their potential need/ability to hide it.

A drunk half-orc comes stumbling up the gangway and quickly passes out in a pile of rigging and ropes.
Bruz is a half-orc monk of the Drunken Master tradition. He makes his coin fighting and telling stories wherever his travels take him. Will you throw him overboard or put him to work?
I'm a relatively new player to DnD, got into it through this site about a month ago, but I've fully submerged myself in all the rules and lore. I'm in several campaigns (PbP and Roll20) and still can't get enough. I enjoy role-play, especially via PbP, so I'm really interested in joining the crew!
Bruz is most welcome! Check your messages for info.

Off in the distance a Ranger looks down to the shoreline and notices with his keen eyes that the Silken Keel is near, he approaches with caution because of the rumors of the crew that lives upon this ship! Will he be accepted by the captain or denied and taken prisoner......find out next time! On the message board hahahaa
Beyond the shores, braving through the coastal tides sailed a lone ship in the distance. A single silhoutte manned the...not-so impressive mast as he stood gallantly under the vermillion sun. Waves of sea water poured into the raggedy ship as he approached the docks, sinking lower and lower until only the mast was visible above water.
Swaggering his way atop the dock in a nonchalant sway, he walked shortly before being whacked in the face with a fist.
"You got a lot of nerve showing your face 'round these parts, you rat bastard. Any last words to the boss before we blast you to Jones' Locker?" A gun cocked into place, looming near his cheek as the crook grinned, amassing of group of likely friends around him.
Bearing a devilish grin, the Tiefling reached for his Lute as he fine tuned his weapon of choice...
We are in dire need of at least four new crewmates! The RPG Thread is "Sail On, Sailor!" if you want to peruse the details. Posting is 2-4 day per DM post, so it's not rushed. Come and sail the Moonshaes and find adventure!

With harried, light footsteps a shortish, wild-eyed half-elf, in his twenties, approaches the dock servicing the Silken Keel. His arms ripple with muscles as he carries two bags, fashioned crudely out of bed linens, under each arm. On his back is a traveler's pack with a sword dangling from the side and a round shield fastened firmly to the backside. Shaking his wispy blonde hair out of his eyes, he spots the recruiter at the dock, and shuffles up to him.
"Your pardon, but is this the Shining Hull Trading Company? The one looking for crew members?" he casts a nervous look over his shoulder.
The half-elf smiles, sets a bag down, and extends a massive, calloused hand. "Kelris Brinson at your service. Or just Kelly, if you please. I'm looking to set sail with your organization. No, no, no, the pay isn't important. You're leaving today, yes? Well I'd like to sign up." Kelly glances up and down the rows of docks, his smile sagging the edges.
"Experience? Sailing? Oh, gods, no, I've never sailed in my life!" he laughs. "But I'm a quick learner. The quickest! And while you're teaching me about ropes and sails and decks and lubbers and the like, I can offer my services as your defensive contingent, both onboard and onshore. Guard duty, I mean. Been doing it my whole life and I, er..." He cranes his head to the left, peering up the harbor, through the throngs of people.
He leans forward, lowering his voice to a friendly but desperate, between-the-two-of-us whisper. "I just need a change of pace."
"So whatdya say?" His smile brightens. "I won't let you down, I promise. If I do, I'll walk your plank myself!"
I am very interested. I am also PST, with some experience in varied versions... mostly I play live with friends on Friday but looking to play online with a new crew. Weekdays i can say after 6-7pm up till midnight-ish is when i could play. I have a bunch of level 1 templates ready to go or fill something to round out the team, just have to make the adjustments needed and pretty much good to go.
Finn15 - If you want into the group, you can send me a DM with your character link, or otherwise let me know like AlphaLyre and Bonedit have. :D
The Shining Keel is currently in port at Kingsbay - a major port that is the gateway to the interior of Gwynneth and Sarifal. It's a populous port, and the ship is going to be docked here for at least a week.
