Hello, I am a 31 year old father of 3 that would love to get started playing D&D. My problem is that it I only have an hour or so a day (lunch breaks and kid naps on weekdays, weekends are a no-go) that I would be able to play which makes face-to-face and many online versions of the game difficult or impossible. I recently spend some money on a number of the books available through D&D Beyond and have a handful of characters I think would be amazing to play, but am not sure how to actually make use of them with my limited schedule. If any of you have a 5E game that is Post-to-Play or Email-to-Play and could use an enthusiastic new member to your party, please let me know! Thanks.
My problem is that while I normally have access to the internet in some way, most of the time it does not include the ability to talk over skype or roll20 or anything like that. The more the merrier RogueGalaxy!
Have you looked at play-by-post specific websites? I'm an active member of www.gamersplane.com There are a lot of D&D 5e games over there specifically for people who juggle working and parenting and who otherwise can't play irl. Maybe you can find what you're looking for over there?
I just made a Gamersplane.com account, we will see how it goes. It looks like I cannot upload my character sheets from the charcter builder here though which stinks lol :D
No, I have a mic. My problem is that I never know when I am going to get the change to play and when I can i am normally surrounded by Kiddos :P I think Play-by-Post sounds like what I need. Now if only I could get into a game...
I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd ask how this turned out for you as I'm in the same situation as you are/were, basically I can't commit to a specific time, or long periods of time, but do have access throughout the day, and will be able to participate daily.
