Im sure im not the only one that has felt intimidated while playing dnd in a group of much older much more experienced men. As a not very confident person I've always been awkward in these groups leading to unpleasant experiences. Im aiming to form a gall group to play some home brew dnd! I really want this to be a nice comfortable game where no one feels too nervous and we can all have some laughs. Of course, any male or otherwise identifying players are invited, but i just wanted to put the women call out there to make sure we have a nice balance :)
As the summary of the campaign is quite long i wont include it here, but be warned it will occur in modern day, in a setting where earth has no clue about magic! (and you are tasked with having to keep that secret) I understand a lot of people are more into classic style fantasy so i didn't want to bring anyone's hopes down when they find out it isn't a game they thought they would enjoy.
I am also open to talk with the players and create an alternative game based on what everyone enjoys :)
This is going to be a hopefully chill game open to players of all levels. Just a heads up this will be my first time being the dm, so any advice or tips are welcome. As i want the characters to really fit into the story and feel important, i would like for them to be created with me, so i can explain any doubts or questions! Existing characters can also be tweaked to fit the setting a tad better :)
I plan to jus have a bit of a chat over on discord to learn about you and see if the group really clicks :) im planning to keep the group relatively relaxed and comfortable :)

Hi I'm Tony and I get the irony in a male replying first but I'd be interested in joining depending on the schedule (I'm a teacher and only have so much free time, even in summer). In all my years of roleplaying, there's only ever been two or three girls I've gamed with and even those were spread out and inconsistent sessions/campaigns. I wouldn't mind a change of pace from the usual five guys around a table style of play I've had for the majority of my experience. I'll shoot ya a dm/discord add in a bit once I get dinner cooking. Relatively new, am a player in a campaign currently on hiatus and am also DMing a casual group. Both are very homebrew-y, filled with other girls and role playing emphasized with not a lot of DnD technicalities involved, but I’d definitely be down to learn about all that stuff.
