I am currently looking for some players to start a new campaign with (home brew). Game sessions will be held over discord via live chat. The game will be played using theater of the mind however this will include handouts and/or reference material that will be posted within discord. Dice rolls will be rolled within discord as well. Looking for 4 players.
I have been playing D&D since the 80s. With that being said I welcome new and experienced players. I do want to clear up some thing first...
Know your character. If you need help its ok to ask but as a player you must be capable of looking up info on your character.
Please don't get to detailed with your background story. Try to keep it simple.
Character creation is limited to the players handbook. No other reference may be used.
I am not looking for players that want to make the game about their character. This game is about all players/characters.
As far as keeping track of your character. You can use what ever method you like. Use an actual character if you want or keep it somewhere digital. Just be truthful with your stats, bonuses and whatnot.
When rolling stats roll 4d6 and keep the highest 3 per roll for each stat. You may use any roll for any ability score when creating your character. Characters will start at level 1.
Game times will be Sundays between 4pm and 8pm. I am open to adjusting these times/days providing the whole group is in agreement. Im in Arizona and do not have daylight savings so make sure the times will work with your location.
If interested just post here. I would like a general idea as to what kind of character you want to roll up.
How homebrew do you want to go? I would love to run a Gunslinger. If not I do have 3 5e characters. A druid, A Ranger, and a Monk. My monk is my AL PC and I've used him the most. I have a druid just in case no one wants to play support >_> (this has happened in games before.)
Fair warning I've been burned by games on here before. DM me if you're interested in a game.
I'd like to join. I have no preference for character as far as class. If we are starting at level 1, I could be a farmer with a pitchfork and raise him a Fighter. I'd rather fit in the story than try to be squeeze a character into an adventure they have no connection to.

I totally agree with a character having some form of connection with the world. My only concern when I posted what I did about backgrounds is I have had players message me basically wanting their character to be the... hero of the whole thing. Wanting everything to revolve around their background.
I'm interested in joining and would like to play either a fighter or barbarian with a soldier background and Sundays that time work for me. I can be reached on Discord fastest and my discord name is UrsolBallic#3793
