I say take it one character at a time. D&D beyond has a great way to make character. Make a character, you don't really have to know what your doing and just skip the first page where it ask you what content you want to use and get started, be creative with it. My favorite part of this game is to come up with back stories. After you have a character your happy with learn about that part of the game. Don't think you have to learn everything at once. Learn what spells that you can do, learn what that race can do, learn how to use your weapons. By thinking you have to learn everything at once will overwhelm you.
