Homebrew (West Marches style game) - Characters are out on the frontier exploring and following up rumors. Players self direct what they want to do, letting the DM know in advance to allow for preparation when possible. Dungeons of various sizes can be found, as well as other interesting sites and encounters. Combat is rolled in the open and characters can be killed.
The OSR rule set being used by the other group in the campaign world is Lamentations of the Flame Princess (rules only, not setting). Those rules are available for free download (Mature content warning).
