Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: About 1 year Location/Timezone: EDT (Easter Daylight Time) Schedule: Ideally weekly/bi-weekly, Mon-Wed evenings/Saturday Roles sought: 2-4 Players Game style: Healthy balance of RP and fighting, (not full out hack-n-slash or murder hobos)
I'm looking to talk about starting a homebrew campaign for a group, between 2-4 players. I'm a semi-experienced DM, and would like to run a game in a setting I've been developing. The setting would be a more medieval/feudal time period, lower magic frequency (though far from scarce), and the campaign would likely take on more of a sandbox feeling, with certain parts changing as time goes on, and world events taking place that the players can partake in, ignore, or affect both directly and indirectly.
Ideally, this would be an online group, either on Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds, either are up for grabs as far as I'm concerned. Much of it might just be theater of the mind, but I think tactical maps are cool and should be utilized. Voice would probably be via Discord, it works well. If there's another viable platform though, I'm not against it. Time would be weekday evenings, or Saturdays starting out. I'm EDT, so start time would be 6-9pm, and lasting around three hours after that. (Finishing before midnight is preferable.) Life changes though, so if things needed to adjust, it'd be something to figure out with the group.
I'm not looking to start right away either, so if you're interested, let's talk more in detail about the setting, character ideas, and other expectations like action vs. roleplay, character backstories, PC deaths, loot amounts, and expected final levels and goals. A "Session 0" with everyone would be in order to set expectations, and make sure that everyone gels. Maybe a one-shot adventure or character backstory share time? Possibly brainstorm on party composition and character building? The idea would be to just have fun and casual time together so we can be people first, and then PC's second.
You can drop in the thread, or send me a direct message. I'll be looking for candidates soon.
Hope to hear from you all soon. May your hand never roll a 1.
