Hi! I'm a DM (Fairly new-ish, still learning) looking for one player to play an original campaign. We're about to start the next arc. We meet Tuesday nights 7PM pacific - 9:30-10 PM pacific. When I'm done with school in late may we might switch to Monday nights, our original time. Currently, we're at level 8 with a high elf fighter, an aasimar death domain cleric, a warforged monk, and a firbolg druid.
Answer the thread with your character class/race, and an answer to the question: A young halfling reaches out to you for help and goes into a dark alleyway asking you to follow her. What does your character do?
Hi I am new to Dnd. Hope you don't mind. Changeling artificer.
Nix looks at the halfling curiously but follows to offer aid for whatever is needed after casting a light spell on her quill to guide her but also prepares to make a quick escape if it comes to be needed, she has a few tricks up her sleeve.
Hi I'm Jim, I've been playing D&D since 3rd edition, but 5th edition is still new to me by about a year. I've been looking for a nice casual weekday game and maybe make some new friends.
Krrag (65 y/o Half-Orc Rogue Mastermind, NG, vigilante/local crimefighter backstory) pulls up the collar of his duster & reseats his scally cap trying to achieve a lower profile. Picking up his cane he sighs; looks back to the young halfling and old man smiles, studying her. "One more adventure.." he says to himself.
Hello! I’m new to D&D but have done a handful of one shots to learn the basics. I am in the Pacific Time Zone so the hours and days work perfectly.
Caelum, a Shadow Elf Rogue armed with Darkvision, peers down the alleyway before walking forward. Constant vigilance always on his mind. “If danger comes, I can always Slip into Shadow” Caelum reminds himself.
Hello, I'm Stranger. I have played a few games that died off, and I've been DMing my own Saturday game for a few months and I'm looking to be a player again.
If they fit the setting, I have two characters, either of which I'd love to play, with changes to fit your story as needed.
First is a female water genasi swashbuckler rogue. | I stare down the alley with blatant distrust, seeing nothing because I don't have division, and pull out a gold coin to dance across my knuckles as I slowly follow to serve as a trick distraction of movement if I need to snatch out a dagger.
Second is a male wildhunt shifter, hunter archetype ranger. | I frown, concerned but hesitant, more from my discomfort in cities than anything, and sniff at the air to see if I can discern what's going on as I slip into the alley, hand on my sword. I do have darkvision but I tend to sniff things first, ask questions later. Yes, literally.
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Play by Post Experience: Some in person experience DnD player, but not any kind of online DnD experience Location/Timezone: USA, California, Pacific Time Schedule: I currently work Saturday-Wednesday, 10:30am-7:30pm Roles sought: Characters Created (Bard, Fighter, Monk) Game style: I've only played Barbaric roles, but would like to expand my experience from being a Barbaric and would like to try being a Bard, since they don't really go balls deep into battle. If this is not something that you're rather not have, I adapt very easy and can try to do any character. I always try to stay immersed into my character and do the best I can to bring my character to life.
A young halfling reaches out to you for help and goes into a dark alleyway asking you to follow her. What does your character do?
-Nithaneil (Human Bard) will possibly follow the hafling if they mistake them for a child. If they do, they will follow the halfing into the dark alleyway to help. If he is able to, then he will most likely move on.
-Timothy (Halfling Monk) would follow the halfing in a blink of an eye, and ready himself to fight evil.
-Darun (Dwarf Fighter) simply ignores the halfing and sees how empty his glass is with mead.
Dunno if you're still taking applications, but I'll try my hand anyway. Allow me to introduce you to D'Niel Fray, the human blood hunter (my first attempt with the class)
D'niel Fray, a human approaching his thirties, strolls down the street, admiring the trusty crossbow he's kept since basic. He stops himself, nearly tripping a young halfling civilian. He turns to apologize for this, but he can't get the words out before she breathes aloud "Oh a soldier! Thank the Gods! Quickly, follow me! I need your help!" and dashes into the alleyway she sprung from. Not one to trust easy, D'niel wonders if there's more to this halfling than on the surface. He calls upon his...gifts. To see what she's thinking. Sure enough, Detect Thoughts reveals her hunger for flesh of the innocent. (Detect Thoughts cast via Revealed Arcana) With this knowledge, D'Niel preps his crossbow, adjusts his hat, lights a torch, and enters the dark of the alleyway.
The Old One protests in his mind. "Fool. You know of her danger yet you risk life and limb? Why, mortal, are you going down this suicidal path?"
He thinks back. "I'd tell you ethics and all, but... heck I'm just excited to find out how tough this thing is. And how fast I can put it down."
The torch reveals the back of the alley with the halfling girl staring at D'Niel. "I'm so glad you've come to help me. Please... come closer." An invasive presence fills D'Niel's mind, attempting to control him. Rather strange feeling to come from a halfling. D'Niel rips the thought from his mind and says "I liked you better as a civilian." With that, he drops the torch and creates two green flames that orbit his hand as he fires his crossbow at the halfling. The first flame brushes her shoulder, the second hits her stomach, and the bolt hits the shoulder the flame missed. (Eldritch Blast plus Crossbow attack from Mystic Frenzy, deals 15 damage)
The halfling looks up at him and screams something in Undercommon before becoming a mass of yellow ooze, almost tree-shaped with an eyeball at the top. According to the Order, these things are Yochlols, demonic minions of the Drow that posess resistance to physical and elemental damages. (advantage on INT check for info with Hunter's Bane, yielding a natural 20.) Somehow, this one arrived here alone and must have been accosting people for maybe a few years. And now he gets to slay one in their name.

Human Wizard.
I send my owl ahead to perceive any threats then proceed with a silent image of myself 60ft in front of me.
Easy going and looking to join a mid-week group as a player. Let me know if you want any further information.
