Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Face-to-face (tried online, really miss the face-to-face) Experience: Ancient, started in '76 Location/Timezone: PDX, West side, Hillsboro Availability: Mon-Wed Weeknights, Sat/Sun flexible Preferred role: Player (already GM-ing 2 other sessions, down from 3, want to play) Game style: Heavy role playing. I call it Mercer-style, but I've been doing it since before Matt was born (literally, he was born in '82, I started in '76). I enjoy extended campaigns where we get deep into our characters and in turn deep into the world. I'm a builder and enjoy building the world with the GM and the rest of the party. I run 2 full campaigns that are months/years old but really want to play as well.

Ancient GM, started in '76, have played almost everything at some point or another.
I run/play Mercer-style games, heavy on the RP and interaction, light on the combat-monster and rule-lawyering. The goal is to tell an epic story with the players and the players are as involved in the world building as the GM is. I run and play a very Brechtian style, am huge into RP theory and love discussing improv and offers.
Yeah, online just doesn't do it for me. I've tried, many times. It should be perfect, private channels, Roll20, etc, but I'm just too old and set in my ways, too much in love with the face-to-face interactions and chemistry. Thanks for thinking of me, though :)

I have the same issues, but due to location and lack of players i am slumped into online play. I don't do roll20 we just use our voices and gameplay, i just bought some software called arkenforge and it seems pretty good, but its just for battle layouts. My saturday group is old vets from 80s and 90s and a few newer players. And it is a blast. would be better in person, but a blast to host them. My friday group is a little lacking, got some good players 2-3 but a few newer players as well. I hope you find what your looking for, if you ever get an itch to play notify me and i can make some room.
What voice do you use? What level is everyone? What world?

Oh, nm, you said Friday. I'm already running a Friday game, and it's showing no sign of stopping or slowing down. Thanks anyway.

I'm a DM, I'm running 2 games already, I just want to frigging play! :( I'm not one of those DM's that prefers to DM, I actually prefer to play, but I DM in the absence of anything else.

I've tons of friends who want to play and want me to run, and I'd love to say "I can't, I'm playing 3 games right now", but alas, such is not the case :P
Also, sadly, no one runs like me and, honestly, I love how I run and would love to play in a game I ran :P

I'm in the area and would love to play, and honestly I'd love to DM also but it sounds like you set a high bar, so I'd really rather get a feel for it and make sure I'm up to the task before committing to it! I think with practice I'd be pretty decent at it. But generally I'm dying to find a face to face group in the Portland area (I'm in west Portland Beaverton/Hillsdale area!) and if you can accommodate in ANY way I'd love to!

Not quite ancient, also in Hillsboro area LFG. DMs are so hard to find. :)

Same here, friend. DMing only because I don't know anyone else that has the time to DM.
