I'm a 21-year-old player and DM who goes by Mercury and he/him. I'm looking for a long term, story-oriented game. I've been playing 5e for about a year, but I had read the books and created characters that I just never had the chance to play before that. I've been writing and roleplaying since I was old enough to do so. I DM a long-term homebrew game that I'm pretty proud of, and now I'm looking to be a player for once. I tend to be a rather curious player who likes exploring stories and puzzles, but I'm more than happy with combat too. I prefer to start at lower levels and work my way up, it helps me feel more connected to the characters. I'll play any class, but I've got a hard rule with only playing male characters for my own comfort.
Story-wise, I'll play literally anything. From whacky fantasy to serious and dark. Modern to medieval. I'll play space cowboys if that's what you're DM'ing! What's important to me is that you make me care about the plot, NPCs, and other players. I want the kind of stories that make people tear up when someone dies or something goes really wrong. I want something I can be invested in and give my all to. I will not play with anyone under the age of 16. I also prefer people who are mid 30s or under, helps to be in the same age bracket. One of my big big requirements is LGBT friendly- I'm gay and intolerant when it comes to homophobia.
My timezone is EST, and I'm free for online voice (no video, my wifi doesn't handle it) on Tuesdays from 3pm 'til 11 or so at night. For play-by-post, I can respond several times a day with at least 300 words. Sadly these are the only times I'd be able to play, life and preexisting DM'ing obligations come first.
Please post here or message me if you've got any questions or have a game in need of a player!
