Experience: Newish (player as a kid in early 1e days and recently started DMing a game for my kids)

Game style: semi-casual game with nice mix of rp and adventure.

I live in NYC and played a bunch as a kid when 1e was still fairly new, lol, and then gave it up. Stayed interested in fantasy literature, media and video games but stopped playing D&D. My kids recently got into D&D and I bought them a starter pack for Christmas and have been DMing a very basic Mines of Phandlever campaign for them. In researching for that, I found this sight and that has sparked my interest to start playing again. I have a lvl 1 Fire Genasi Warlock ready to go, or could play any other class as I had so much fun making characters I made one of each class using all different races and am now just working on backstories for each. I did use some basic homebrew primarily to give myself more background options but tried to stick to one’s that closely match PHB options and willing to change them if necessary. And I used one homebrew Race to make a Leprechaun Trickster Rogue because of my Irish background.
