Homebrew is a general term, but I use it more of because I'm not the best at technical rules, so I kinda make stuff up sometimes xD (a lot of times)
So, basically, I could create a world and storyline and what-have-you, but it wouldn't abide by all the same rules as the other campaigns.
(And I forgot to add that yes, your friend could join. The more the merrier!)
