Discord Username: Alino#6571 Game: D&D 5th Edition Platform: Discord Play-By-Voice, preferably with a Roll20 but that isn't necessary. Online, I should state. Experience: Many years, my mother's old boyfriend got me into the game playing AD&D 2.0 when I was 9 or 10, I forget. When I was a freshman in highschool there was a D&D club, where i made some friends, and we started playing at a local cafe on the weekends. Nowadays though, I'm 19, and don't really talk to them. I've DMed since I was a freshman, but just started DMing for 5e back in 2018, and have been looking to be a player since. Date And Time: I'm in the U.S. Central Time Zone (At the time I'm posting this, it is 8:20ish AM), and would like games to take place on a Weekday, in the afternoon. Saturdays work too, but not Sundays, as that is when I run my own D&D group. Preferred Alignment For My Characters: This depends on the character, as I have various concepts. The only Alignment I don't like playing are any neutral-aligned ones, and I'm also of the thought process that you should play the character - not the alignment. Most of my ideas are good inclined, but I have a few evil ones. But by evil I don't mean 'Betray the party, kill the kid, steal the noble's money, etcetc', I mean evil as in, viewing things differently than the party, keeping their true intentions hidden, having a darker goal that can be viewed as evil, and instead of say, seeing a civilian being eaten by a zombie, the character would simply watch rather than help.
Information: I'm 19, turning 20 in December. I'd like to be with a mature group. I've played D&D for years, and have DMed for 5th Edition since 2018. I've been wanting to play as a player, however, and have been struggling to find a good group suited to that.
My ideal group to join is one with a good DM, as well as good players, where you're not forced to play a specific role and where the setting is more of a sandbox than a railroad. And I'd like to join a group focused around the Roleplay aspect of D&D rather than the combat grind. (Of course, combat and dungeons are fine and all! Just, if we're going against a group of bandits, allow for us to try and find a way out of it than just beating eachother senseless.)
As for the type of character I'd want to play.... I have a lot of ideas I've developed over the years, for most archetypes. So I could work with the DM (and share the list of ideas with said DM) to decide which he'd prefer to have in campaign, because I like all the ideas I've had!
And as for length, I'd like this to be long term, starting at a lower level. But I'm fine joining a campaign that's been running for a few months, even if it means starting at a higher level such as 5, 6, or 7.

I know and many of is DM know how you feel. Sometimes you just want to be a player.
Don't want to come up with the story.
But as a DM we have the best position. While you may want to be a player with less responsibility with the story. Well we have as DMs the best role in the world. We play the grass, the trees, the wind, the rain, there storms. We get to play the NPCs the monsters and the entire world.
That is what I love about being a DM. I don't have to be a player in the story because I am everything the players experience.
Your are a player in the world that you create. If you don't understand that them maybe think about it further. A DM is the best character of them all.

Felt it appropriate to change the title of this thread, as to try and be more eye-catching. :)

Well, I've been wanting to be a regular player for years now, but I understand your thoughts on the matter. :D
